LYRICS:
Outside for the first time
In a long time
Lose yourself
Sink into the sunlight
It's been while since you've felt right
But the warm nights are coming soon
And you'll be just fine
Outside for the first time in a long time
You said you can't remember what it's like
To feel more than cold on the inside
But the sunrise will come again
And you'll be just fine
I think it's time you had a pink cloud summer
You've gone too long without a smile
I think it's time you found another
Reason to stay for a while
I think it's time you gave yourself a little color
I don't know much, but I hear that red is in style
I think it's time you had another reason to stay for a while
You should stay for a while
I sit and watch, now with new eyes,
For the green side
Lose myself
Sink into your sunlight
Breath in the breeze like a sweet sigh
Keep me tongue tied
If this lasts forever I'll be just fine
You are the rustling of leaves
You are that honeysuckle breeze
You are the sunlight
Shine onto me

The lyrics were already really powerful to me, but knowing, that Patrick wrote them for his girlfriend, dealing with depression, gives "I think it's time you had a *pink cloud summer* " a whole new meaning, this is so pure omg i'm in love "Her therapist described her recovery as an up and down process. Basically, there would be a lot of bad days, but there would also be good days. She called the good ones her *"pink cloud days"* and the goal was to eventually have those outnumber the bad ones." I'm in a quite similar situation at the moment, and I really look forward seeing Movements live in cologne in a few weeks. Stay strong, everybody reading this, your pink cloud summer will come too 💕

funny enough a lot of people in AA refer to the period of getting your life back together while in recovery as your pink cloud. my pink cloud was supposed to be over this summer, got into a new college after i fucked up at my old one, got sober, met new people, things were looking good for me.. but then in june my best friend killed himself. so now i associate a pink cloud summer with this dichotomy of getting better and falling apart simultaneously. thanks for coming to my impromptu comment therapy session, youre all beautiful and loved

my girlfriend took me to see this band back when we were "just friends" and this was my favorite song that they played. later, just after we started dating, she worked for our college's radio station and promised to dedicate a song to whoever stayed up to listen to her slot (2-4 am on saturdays). I did, and halfway through her time slot I heard, "this is for my girlfriend," and then the opening chords to this song. I cried because of how sweet it was! she's so thoughtful and caring and deserves the world update, for those that ask periodically: we are not still together and haven't been for a while, but i wish her the best!

My ex used to listen to Movements ALL the time in the car. This was one of the only songs I really enjoyed and honestly it always makes me miss her. We were together for 3 and half years but she moved back to Texas to find work and ended up breaking up with me. Since then, I've just been trying to find myself all over again... and this song helps me just a tiny bit to hold it all together and not break down.

this made a wreck out of me. my beautiful grandma just passed away and was brought to rest the other day after dying from sudden blood infection in a hospital. life feels so dull and pointless ever since, like a piece of me was buried down with her. I know it sounds selfish, but I wish I had another day with her just to say a proper farewell. now I'll never have the chance to. thank you for raising and shaping the woman I am growing to be. @@matthewellis4751 The band Sam Cross was referring to is called "Grayscale". Also, since Robert Peals was talking about record channels, there's a channel called "Greyscale Records" that usually releases some heavy music (metalcore and that style of music, pretty different than Movements lmao). I hope I helped you, and sorry for my bad english. Also, check Dreambound channel, is the greatest wonder on the internet.

This song really hits home for me. I was diagnosed with depression and haven’t been happy in a while. When he says “I think it’s time you had a pink cloud summer”, i can’t explain how it makes me feel. I’ve been in winter for so long. In the dark. It’s hard. But this makes me hopeful.

I’ve had quite a rough couple of months and my boyfriend was basically the only thing keeping me from completely deteriorating and losing it, he put this song on a playlist he made for me and now I ball every time I hear it. Knowing that it was written for the singers girlfriend who had depression makes it so much more meaningful

I really can't express how much I love this song and tunnel vision . I am struggling with depression for years. And I'm doing what I can to try to get my life back in order , and when he says you should stay for a while. That's what Im going to keep doing. Stay as long as I can and keep going. This song really is a relaxing, beautiful inspiration. Thank you Movements. 💙

Movements is my new favorite band. I finally saw them live at Warped (RIP) and they really resignate with me. Their songs are all poetry and tell a story and I am glad they have taken music back to the days of meaning and not one verse and repeating a catchy chorus five times. Their songs are personal and I am privileged to be able to hear each story. I've been battling depression for as long as I can remember and it is important to get out and enjoy those "pink cloud summer" days that make up for the dark ones. Thank you Movements for keeping the demons at bay. The sunrise will come again.

Movements is by miles my favorite band on the face of the Earth. I listen to every song they have pretty much every single day. Their music helped me get sober after being a drug addict for 12 years. Words can't express what this band has given me. Made me human again. Kept me alive at the end of my rope before I got clean, then gave me a heartbeat and hope to find a way to live again. Everything they have ever written is truly perfect to me.

This song hurts more than when I first discovered it, bc I got this album for my fiancé (at the time) and she told me this album really helped with her depression while she was in college and I wasn’t really emotionally available for her for a long time. This album was there for her when I wasn’t, and now I feel so much pain. We haven’t spoken in almost 3 years now

My ex called it quits with me about a year ago now. It's been hard and even though she's moved on, there hasn't been a day she's left my mind. She showed me this song and listening to it now reminds me of when we first getting to know each other and how pure that love felt, thinking I had found my person. This song fills me with bittersweet feelings of what we once were, but also with the solace and strength I need to be able to go on without her. Im looking towards the future now, those pink cloud summer days will always remind me of her, but I shall have them on my own now and will live for myself. For any of you reading this, I hope you find find strength in this message in whatever you are going through.. depression is an absolute bitch..... "but the sunrise will come again and you'll be just fine..." 🍂

I know just how you feel. The girl I was talking to (and actually almost got with, like literally so close) called it quits with me last May over a joke I made. This song also fills me with bittersweet feelings, because I introduced this song to her and we used to sing it together. But I've been able to distance her from this track so I no longer think about her when I hear it.

So weird how I discovered this song, found it middle of a breakup and at one of my lowest parts of my life with my depression and school. Was scrolling through KZfaq and thought "I'll give it a shot" fast forward to now were I've been listening to movements non stop, and have been luckily enough and seen them live. They have helped me through so much, and all I can say say to end this is I hope you all have a pink cloud summer :)

This song really helped me cope with a deep depression after my grandfather passed away earlier this year. He raised me since I was younger. I had been feeling guilty that I stopped talking to him as much when I was in college. I got home for spring break before it happened, and I spent the first two days of break at my friends’ house. I finally got to see him after I got back, but only for a few hours before I went to bed. He asked me to watch TV with him, but my head had been hurting so I declined. As I was sleeping in my room, my grandmother woke me up at 5am to see what was wrong with him. He passed in his sleep. I became the beacon of strength for my family. He was my little sister’s best friend, and his death was a very very hard loss for everyone to deal with. I kept my composure and tried not to break down, for everyone else’s sake. I heard this song a few weeks after it all happened, and I still felt so guilty about everything. About how I didn’t show him how much I loved him. Some of the lyrics in this song really resonated with me when I heard it, and I cried while singing a few times. I think it’s time you had a pink cloud summer, because you’ve gone too long without a smile. You aren’t in pain anymore, Rest In Peace, Papa.
