Documentary series dealing with every aspect of special effects in movies, from low-budget make-up to multi-million-dollar computer-generated graphics. The clear presentation includes descriptions of the creation and technical problems of the effects, and interviews with effects technicians, directors, stars and other crew. Each episode deals with one topic, effect or technician (eg theme park rides, CGI, Stan Winston), concentrating on films from 1990s.

Drone nerds. Remember where it all started. This was the first man to put a camera on an rc helicopter and shoot big budget stuff. He paved the way. We are spoiled today yes. But who is going to be the first to strap a movie camera onto a rocket. To the moon or Mars! Or Saturn! Who is the next innovator?

Parts of that has been done already. The IMAX ISS movie is a stunning example.

Dear God! A cablecam?! I never heard about it before. It’s like to put a car hanging on the air. Think about all the hard work involved to mount those huge towers to support it. I thought about how easier the drones made the aerial images nowadays and then suddenly appears that prehistoric flying device that is a lost relative of the moderns drones. Look how big is the RC antenna!!!!Amazing!!

15:26 I hope that dude lived to see FPS drone footage. HE would have shit UPDATE, Googled it, he went on to win awards and do many big movies. So he 100% got to see what his pioneering craft went.

No due to all the copyright materials arranged even for 1 episode makes the show unwatchable unless Discovery wants to continually rebuy all the copyrights to legally reair the show

Still use cable-cams in sport (particularly F1), more controllable and less likely to plummet.
