Houston HAD a Tribute Duo, Blues Brothers act complete with Police Car. They were very talented. /// THAT SAID, John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd had some great Blues projects ahead of them should John have not met his untimely end.

@Hunter Smith also my dad's favourite (and mines). My dad is a DJ. He's been doing his Blues Brothers skit for 30 years now. He and his DJ partner always go out dressed as the Blues Brothers and always performed this song in the bars. They have the whole bar singing with them everytime. Everyone calls him the Karaoke King. They all love him. I've now joined him in the fun. They love the father-son duo we've become.

The Blues Brothers is a cinematic wrecking ball that crashes through the screen with the raw energy of a thousand freight trains. It's a delirious, high-octane blend of action, comedy, and soul music that leaves you breathless. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd's iconic performances as Jake and Elwood Blues are the heart and soul of the film, their chemistry crackling with the intensity of a blues riff. The movie is a masterclass in cinematic chaos. Car chases, shootouts, and impromptu concerts are woven together with a manic energy that's both exhilarating and exhausting. Yet, at its core, The Blues Brothers is a love letter to the blues. The film's all-star cast of legendary musicians lends an authenticity that elevates the music to a spiritual level. While the plot is as thin as a dime, the film's sheer exuberance carries the day. It's a movie that demands to be seen on the big screen, with the sound cranked up to eleven. The Blues Brothers is more than just a film; it's a cultural phenomenon that continues to resonate decades later. It's a testament to the enduring power of the blues and the magic of cinema.

My brother and his fiancé had a wedding 4 years ago at the House of Blues in New Orleans. We held a parade in the street, a blues band followed behind us playing this exact song as we danced with random strangers through the streets of the French Quarter. It really did feel a scene from this a movie! Now every time I hear this song, I think of my brother's wedding. :)

Technically it’s not a musical, a musical comedy would be a better way to describe it. It’s not really a musical unless they sing songs as part of the plot like The Sound Of Music or Mary Poppins. Apart from the song Think by Aretha Franklin, no song is sung as part of the plot, most songs are sung for performances.

A great song indeed and a great performance by these two fine men, they Started the BLUES BROTHERS as a skit on SNL but quickly realized that it could be so much more, they gathered the finest musicians that were around and with the help of Paul Schaffer set about reintroducing THE BLUES to a whole generation of folks. Every player/singer in this movie was a top caliber entertainer that had all but vanished from the music scene, yes they were still around but they were largely ignored, every singer/player saw a career resurgence, and every one of them thanked JAKE for what he did, I saw JAMES BROWN at the COMMODORE BALLROOM and he kept yelling out JOHN BELUSHI and thanking him, without this movie a lot of these musicians would have slowly faded away but after it came out each and everyone of them began to tour again, I tried to see every one of them when they passed through town, got to meet ELWOOD at a RED ROBINSON THEATER show and he signed my poster, the one the kids were hanging all over the city, many years later I got to meet him again to resign it as the 1st time it didnt quite work out, I play BRIEFCASE at most parties, I sing along madly and I smile, I close my eyes and remember JAMES yelling, JOHN BELUSHI, John Belushi, john belushi, a wonderful memory RIP JAKE, and like ELWOOD said at his funeral, he was a good man, but a bad boy, what a waste and a crying shame THE BLUES BROTHERS RULE

Think about this: these were basically Chicago comedians who made it big on SNL. Talk about talent! I remember the first time I saw the blues brothers on SNL- I thought WOW! These guys are for real! To this day, almost 40 years later, I feel this movie has got to be one of the greatest musicals ever made. No way this movie could be made today.

You had to have been around then to remember the Second City troupe. SNL had the Not Ready For Prime Time Players.
