My brother and his fiancé had a wedding 4 years ago at the House of Blues in New Orleans. We held a parade in the street, a blues band followed behind us playing this exact song as we danced with random strangers through the streets of the French Quarter. It really did feel a scene from this a movie! Now every time I hear this song, I think of my brother's wedding. :)

I lost my dad in 2020 he was born in 61’ he loved this movie the blues brothers is a classic every time I watch it I just think of him being in his 20s during the 80s makes me live my life like he did during those times.. miss u dad 💙

Man, looking at this film now, I love how this whole scene is basically shot on tripods with absolutely no hand held camera shots. Yet it's still such high energy. Kind of a testament to the old style of filmmaking and the totally different feel it gave.

I've literally come here immediately after watching "Blues Brothers 2000". It took THREE actors to replace only one, John Belushi. That's really saying something. RIP John Belushi, John Candy, Cab Calloway, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Donald "Duck" Dunn and Mr. Fabulous Alan Rubin. This movie will live on and continue to bring joy.

A great song indeed and a great performance by these two fine men, they Started the BLUES BROTHERS as a skit on SNL but quickly realized that it could be so much more, they gathered the finest musicians that were around and with the help of Paul Schaffer set about reintroducing THE BLUES to a whole generation of folks. Every player/singer in this movie was a top caliber entertainer that had all but vanished from the music scene, yes they were still around but they were largely ignored, every singer/player saw a career resurgence, and every one of them thanked JAKE for what he did, I saw JAMES BROWN at the COMMODORE BALLROOM and he kept yelling out JOHN BELUSHI and thanking him, without this movie a lot of these musicians would have slowly faded away but after it came out each and everyone of them began to tour again, I tried to see every one of them when they passed through town, got to meet ELWOOD at a RED ROBINSON THEATER show and he signed my poster, the one the kids were hanging all over the city, many years later I got to meet him again to resign it as the 1st time it didnt quite work out, I play BRIEFCASE at most parties, I sing along madly and I smile, I close my eyes and remember JAMES yelling, JOHN BELUSHI, John Belushi, john belushi, a wonderful memory RIP JAKE, and like ELWOOD said at his funeral, he was a good man, but a bad boy, what a waste and a crying shame THE BLUES BROTHERS RULE

Think about this: these were basically Chicago comedians who made it big on SNL. Talk about talent! I remember the first time I saw the blues brothers on SNL- I thought WOW! These guys are for real! To this day, almost 40 years later, I feel this movie has got to be one of the greatest musicals ever made. No way this movie could be made today.
