@@avgnfandon2 she got mad when he did better than her on the test just decided to leave and didn’t say she would miss him or anything about keeping in touch, he was looking for her for years and she was like ‘let me look up that guy I used to be friends with’, when he couldn’t visit her for over a year because he was studying mandarin she mad no attempt to visit him saying she couldn’t see him for a year either let’s stop talking, then got sad cause he didn’t kiss her and she was walking back to her husband 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think she’s the villain in the story 😂 I’m sure I’m missing things but these moments stood out to me

@@kcsnipes oh yeah definitely; my man Hae Sung had great restraint and even found himself liking the husband and apologized to him. Meanwhile, she wanna walk about to her husband arms crying cuz she didn’t get to kiss her crush 😭

Just saw Past Lives yesterday and left crying. To an extent I was heartbroken because of the giant factor in this film…the What If and I know I’ve personally gone through this and felt so confused of not knowing.

My friend and I went to see it as both of us are waiting to find our soulmates, after marriages that were less than loving. We also couldn't stop thinking about this film. We'd been studying on the soulmate philosophy, so we are aware of what it means. I've never heard the Korean interpretation but it made the film even more profound and so meaningful. We loved this film! Highly recommended to get us thinking!

Thanks for your review. I agree. For me it's a story about life and how no one decision is perfect. They all involve sacrifice and inadequacy to some degree.

Thank you for this review, it's probably the most adult and perfect movie I will see this year. My heart aches and understands it perfectly. We all remain attached to our past lives and loves. And I'm so happy that Arthur is like the most adult a person can be about the situation.

I watched it last night... It's a stunning. My mind and eyes were fixed without distraction for the entire film. Thought provoking, beautiful and relatable to so many.

So much news about people in their 80s and 90s getting back together after divorces, death of respective partners, etc. Perhaps a sequel to this movie soon with that plot?😅

It was ok-good I don’t see why everyone hyping it up😅 the only reason I’d see it again is to see what I missed but glad people love it, but not a masterpiece for me

Everyone has their views. Some Like It, some don't and some people think it was ok. Which all is fine. Its ok if we dont agree. But for me...I really did not like the ending. She wasn't crying, she was sobbing. I was crying in some parts and at the end. You can see the chemistry and connection with na young and Hae than her husband. Sometimes people are meant to be later in life. Na young made it seem it wasnt possible

Dude, this movie is easily 100/10 Like everything was outstanding, especially the story :') Made me tear a bit but my heart was super depressed

Man, I really wanted to watch this for a while, I wanted to bring my gf last week, but my relationship seems like it's at an end but we met as kids in 7th grade and reconnected almost 20 years, like the characters here. If this movie tore through the hearts of average people, imagine what it did to me with the context I provided, the ending man, left me sitting in the theater way after the credits were rolling :/ 5 stars or 5!

I feel like I am the only person who was seriously underwhelmed with this movie. I liked it, but I didn’t have the emotional reaction that everyone else has. Yes it was touching but the themes in this story were not earth shattering.

Nora is bad. She's rude and selfish. She's a married women allowing herself to see anything man an emotionaly cheat on her husband. She also has this whole intermediate conversation in another language with her husband next to them. Also who calls an Uber down the block? Mad sketchy.

How is she bad ? She might be little selfish but she is not rude. She is honest with her husband and she only met with him after bc her husband allowed it. She didn’t have emotional affair, she was drawn to her past, her childhood and Korea

@@Moidsaretrashmisandryisbased just because he is aware doesn't make cheating right. She has feeling for the friend. She said she wanted to marry him when she was younger. Her cheating is knowing she has feeling for him and allowing the interactions and feelings to grow. If she wanted to explore her korean roots she can easily do that without the friend. He is not the only Korean in the world. She lives in NY. She can easily find Koreans and connect to her home country.

I disagree. The most overhyped film of the year. A boring journey to nowhere with absolutely uninteresting characters who doesn't deserve your time. I watched thousands of films from over the world, I have diploma of film studies and I am telling you that from my point of view this flicks phenomenon is simply due to good PR and due to excellent advertising people work.
