@Emma Cain I still think it was meaningless. Originally Arthur Weasley was supposed to die and she chose Lupin instead. If it was supposed to have an impact she should have at least showed him fighting bravely and then dying during that, having him die without even revealing how he died in the book is so pointless which was my original point.

I really wish he died saving Lavender Brown from Greyback but then getting both Dolohov and Greyback against him and the numbers game catching up on him

I think the fact that his death was only mentioned in a sentence, very low-key, was used to emphasise that in war, even the most important people to you can be swept away in a second. Sort of as a means to hit home just how brutal and widespread death is in conflict. On the other hand, I would have loved to have seen him fight or even kill Greyback. Even if he died himself afterwards, it would've been like a plot come full circle.

Well Sirius and Lupin are my two favourite characters, but I do agree Lupin’s death is kind of off. Sirius’s death is like a “wakeup call” for Dumbledore and Harry, it connects the story and stuff but Lupin’s death is like.. eh.. out of nowhere. It’s even better for the whole story line that he’s not death ‘cause if JK.R kept Lupin, Harry would have a father figure and Harry, in the end, finally received the love he’s been dreaming. One Harry is enough to emphasize the loss of wars; I just feel sad for their child to grow up not having both of his parents.

Yeah, but like Sirius explained to Harry (when Harry was shocked that the Blacks were related to the Malfoys), pure-bloods are inter-related since there's not many of them, so they're forced to marry relatives in order to keep their bloodline as pure as possible. Andromeda, who is Sirius 1st cousin, was a Black family member who ran away from home in order to marry a mudblood. She dishonored her family by doing so and was erased from the family tree wall. She later ended up having a baby (Nymphadora aka Tonks) who would end up in the Order of the Phoenix alongside Remus. Sirius came into the Order after 14 years in Azkaban, so he was like a stranger to her. Also, they were both estranged from the Black family, so it wouldn't have been weird for them to marry each other. Technically though, she's not a pure-blood, so it wouldn't have been approved by the Black family anyway. However, like Andromeda, Sirius never cared about being a pure-blood, nor did he want to be a Slytherin or a death eater. So they would've made a good match, since both Sirius and Tonks were rebels in their family. Luckily for Remus, she wasn't interested in anyone but him.

I'd love to see a book written by the Marauders about hogwarts with various notes about how to navigate. Maybe a version of "Hogwarts an (in)complete and (un)reliable guide". It was Remus' fault, he was mysterious with Harry and did not tell him that he was a friend of James and Sirius until later, he did not try to write to Harry at the beginning of the fourth year unlike Sirius, Remus wanted to have an official relationship with Harry unlike Sirius who was like an open book to Harry He did not hide anything from him Also Sirius is Harry's godfather and would do anything to protect Harry

Remus and Harry had a close mentor-to-student kind of dynamic. Where Sirius was literally the godfather, closest thing that Harry has to a dad, Harry craved for this because of his upbringing.

Remus is a great man ,not denying that but comparing Harry's relationship with the pair of them and blaming Harry for showing Sirius more affection is bullshit. While Remus could have reached out to Harry sooner, told him about his relationship with his father and been more than a teacher to him he chose NOT to. Ofc iknow he'd been struggling with finding work and his lycanthropy and considered himself dangerous to be around and I'm not blaming him, he just chose what felt right to him and that's that. On the other hand Sirius was his Godfather who'd kill and die for Harry as he made it clear when he escaped Azkaban when he found out the Rat was at Hogwarts,with Harry.Sirius 'd been one among the few adults who loved and cared for Harry for who he was, and not the Chosen one. James liking Sirius more had nothing to do with Harry's relationship with Sirius.
