With Rick being presumed dead for 7 years. I don’t think Carol would be so unenthusiastic with the news. I also think she would’ve led with it. I would think she’d say Rick is “Alive” vs “back” too. I think it’s Dwight

No, no I can see her saying Rick and it was tenically confirmed that she said Rick came back probably "Michonne and Rick came back". Bc They returned home at the end of EP 6

RICK, so why wouldnt the first thing she said be, " HEY DARYL RICK IS BACK YOU CAN COME BACK" it just seems unrealistic, "came back"???? he's been presumed dead for 10+ years, she'd say he's alive or something, I feel like it might be dwight or Morgan

Thinking more about it, it could certainly be Ezekiel's cancer came back and he passed. Think about it, Ezekiel was her love interest, and meant a lot to her. Maybe that's why she sounds so depressed, and why she's searching for Daryl, the last person she was truely close to.

Only thing about the phone call that gets me is not only was it not the first thing she mentioned but she also said it pretty casually. Especially considering Daryl looked for years and is also currently looking for him at the time of the phone call. I have a feeling it's going to be something else or even the possibility it doesn't come up. Even though that would be crazy but TWD has done it to us plenty of times before

They never said it was going to be explained in The Ones Who Live. They just said it was going to be explained soon, which can be a very vague term

Gimple just s aid that the PPP-arc is something that has been laying on a shelf somewhere for a long time and that he would love to still do something with it. Nothing has come out about it being explained soon…

They did but the reference is so subtle you can miss check out episode 5 TOWL Michonne reads a sign or something but the PPP reference is not unraveled maybe they are saving it for something broader later?

I seriously hope they have it to where Daryl makes it home (with a stowed away mutated France zombie or someone who was bit by one, so they have a new story in the US) and finally sees Rick again. I can just feel the emotion Norman Reedus will put into the scene, it’ll make grown men cry. 2 Brothers, 1 who thought the other was dead and the 2nd Brother, Lost from home… Finding his way back. I can just see the tears in both Daryl’s Eyes and Rick’s Eyes when they finally see each other alive and healthy. Even if it’s the ending of Season 2 or the Entire show (I doubt it’ll end on season 2) I’d be fine with that.

My theory is that we see Rick in the season 2 finale. Probably followed Carol's trail or something. It makes perfect sense. Andrew Lincoln is british, he would be a lot closer to his family.

The entire fandom would grab their torches and go to war if they did kill her off. It is the same reason they never killed Rick off and left it open.I genuinely believe that some characters are never going to be killed off.

Her saying Rick came back might be how she gets Daryl to come back home to Alexandria instead of staying in France. To me that makes sense and main reason he decides to go back home.

i gave up on twd , start it off on how ok Rick and Michonne ending was meh pretty bad because ok they went back home but only to the sob so far it never showed Rick meeting his daughter again. Nothing on if they will meet Daryl and Carol or any of the rest again.
