The Bar room mob scene is the best, been a while since i've seen it but i think it goes like this. "Who wants go to the castle and kill Orloff" most roar yay "And who just wants to kill everyone" some roar yay "Okay, you stay here, the rest of you come with me"

Holy shit!!! Somebody else remembers this movie even exists!!! This is one of my favorite all time movies! Every time I try to tell someone about it they look at me like a crazy person!!! Transylvania Twist is also my favorite movie. I suggest that you make a video review of it, explaining why you like it so much. I also made a video review, and recreations, retrospective of "Transylvania Twist". I think more people should review it, so more people can discover the film.

I like that they decided to reference Nosferatu and named the vampire Orlok, the name given to their vampire because the owners of the rights to the book Dracula wouldn't let them.

@@TemmiePlays I agree, Transylvania Twist, is still my favorite movies, I like how they hid things in the background, and thought it was a underappreciated movie. That's why back in 2009, I fleshed.. out the Wikipedia article, and eventually made my own video review, and recreations, retrospective of "Transylvania Twist". I even love the soundtrack.

Just FYI, back in the 80s my home town had a semi-annual quilting contest where the trophy was literally called "the Granny." I'm not sure if that makes the joke better or worse from my point of view.

Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you thank you for doing this review! For years I thought I fucking DREAMED this movie!! I saw it very late at night years ago and could NEVER remember what it was! So I was convinced I just made the whole thing up. I only remembered one part but seeing the clips is bringing it back so I must have seen more than I thought! So again thank you for letting me know I'm not crazy!

I made a video review, and recreations, retrospective of "Transylvania Twist". The director has said this was his favorite film to make, because they laughed everyday on the set.

Ive watched this several times and I do think some of the humour(or attempted humour) actually works. But most of the "jokes " don't land and are actually really bad . Even granting that it's meant to parody horror films, the bad jokes are reallllly bad.

Speaking of this movie, have you seen the horror-comedy-musical Monster Mash from the 90s? It has Candice Cameron, Mink Stole (from Pink Flamingos) and Boris Karloff. It's a sort of G rated version of Rocky Horror - and that's putting it lightly. If you haven't seen it, you should since I think you'd get a kick out of it.

"Dexter" Steve Altman, and Ed Begley Jr., from 6-500 also did a TV pilot together called "Chameleon", Steve plays a FMV video game character come to life, and Ed plays the game creator. They also worked together in Steve's short film HellGig.

Master Markus I think it's to make the family feel better. The same kind of thinking that leads to ministers trying to preach the dead into heaven. Personally I think death is a little late to try to make someone more appealing to others, but if it helps people cope I guess it's okay.

Strangest experience I ever had a funeral was for a friend of mine's now wife's grandmother. The preacher spent the whole survive talking about the End Times and the Rapture and all that. I have never before, or since, seen or heard of that.

That Grammy / granny joke might be the worst joke I've ever heard. Yes filmmakers, the words sound similar, but there's no contest were someone _wins a grandmother!_ It makes no sense!

@@jameshutchins3798 Yeah, but that's not a joke! That's just saying a word! "You could win a Grammy with that song - No, he means granny" doesn't make sense as wordplay. It's like if I said "I just bought a car -- I mean carp!", that's not a joke just because I said two words that sound similar. An equivalent joke that would make sense is like someone saying "I won an Oscar" and then showing everyone their aquarium containing the large cichlid commonly known by that name, because that's misdirection, not outright lying about what the original word was.

I think it might've worked with a different setup. Like if he said, "Your song won a Grammy!", she gets all excited, then from off-screen someone actually hands her the old lady. Something like that.

It's a pun, the movie is filled with puns {a form of word play that exploits multiple meanings of a term, or of similar-sounding words}, the actor that plays Stefen, {Angus Scrimm}, even won a Grammy Award for his liner notes on a classical music album before he became a actor.

Jay Robinson {Uncle Ephram}, was Dr. Shrinker. Howard Morris {Marinas Orlock} was Professor LIttleoldman, he also played in three of Mel Brooks' films, High Anxiety, Life Stinks, and "History of the World Part I". I mention all those and make a clip and paste image of these characters from each the shows, in my video review, retrospective of "Transylvania Twist".

I think Pinhead exiting an acupuncture office is actually the funniest part of that gag. The dialogue is pretty weak. I'd go with something more like "You know, this acupuncture stuff really does work" or "Look, don't judge me. I have migraines" or "I'm starting to think I should switch to medication" I just sighed at the granny joke and impressions. I did actually laugh at most of the clips on this. I recognize the Karloff , castle and ocean clips from the Corman film "The Terror" , starring a young Jack Nicholson. It's pretty awful.

This might be giving them too much credit, but I think the Boris Karloff bit was intentionally fakey, like the joke is that he's in the movie _as_ stock footage. It'd be like you doing a video "with guest David Hasselhoff!", but it's just clips of him from other stuff.

The Terror, is Boris Karloff's last film, and was released 20 years earlier. It was the perfect timing for the joke. It also suggests that instead of dying, he could have been trapped in a movie for the past 20 years, and not died.

1:52- And this is where Seth MacFarlane got his inspiration for his goddamn, not funny at all, cutaway jokes. If I want a movie with a vampire named Count Orlok, then I will stick with Nosferatu, thank you very much. 4:43- Do you know that annoying main character you'd find in every American sitcom ever made? Well, I take it that this guy is 1,000 times worse than any of them combined. 5:47- I recently watched The Cabin in the Woods for my first time, and they did the "bring all the horror monsters together" thing MUCH better than this crap. 6:31- ...Am I the only one that thinks that The Irate Gamer would LOVE this piece of shit movie? 10:05- Okay, I admit that scene was pretty funny, but the rest of it makes me feel like watching Young Frankenstein, which is obviously the BEST horror spoof of all time. 12:46- OR maybe she shoots lighting, because she's been train to use the Dark Side of the Force. The name "Ace Mask" sounds just as fake as "Crackers Phinn" from Don't Go Near the Park. How lazy do you have to be to take stock footage of Boris Karloff from The Terror (I'm guessing) just for a joke? Sorry you had to get fired by your girlfriend a few times during this review, Phelous.

@@Assimandeli Strangely the movie poster says it was PG13, and demo video also was rated pG13, but actual DVD and VHS have PG, and in UK it was rated 15+, because of the blood spirting and language.
