Sense offender is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day

This was an era when it was difficult to choose between what to watch and what to skip. These days, even big budget films disappoint halfway through.

I recall this movie releasing and people mentioning it is just a Matrix-ripoff. However, this movie did a lot different; especially the introduction of gun-kata and the extreme discipline required. When Beethoven's music plays, it immediately is louder than anything and really makes you experience the music. It is so well done! It is one of my favorite movies and it was done just right. No sequal or prequal needed. If we're looking for a remake: just look outside and how devoid of color everything has become.

It's basically a mix-up of 1984, Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451 with Matrix-style visuals. But despite that very well done.

This was a very entertaining and thought provoking movie. You can't really go that wrong with Christian Bale and Sean Bean. That last scene was one of my favorite action scenes of all time.

This movie is really something else. It is like an edgy teenager wrote a screen play the same week he saw the Matrix for the first time and also finished reading 1984. That may sound like I am saying that is a bad thing, but actually I'm not. Equilibrium is a really fun watch with absolutely bizarre, but wildly entertaining stunt choreography that manages to be so derivative of so many different influences that it comes off as unique. The plot and storytelling is so over the top and ham-fisted that it has a "so bad it's good" effect. The film needed to dive head first into these levels of complete ludicrousness because anything less would have made the movie unwatchable. Go watch Equilibrium because it is a ton of fun and let your inner edgy 15 year old ask, "What if we replace god, government, and media with gun-fu?"

2:34 Errol never intended to fire, he knew it was over and simply wanted to ensure that john would have to shoot him so he died there and then while still feeling. Not a case of John being “faster”.

This movie is a classic . Bale is a great actor loved it

Equilibrium was a great movie! Love the end fight between John and Brandt, you think it's gonna be some epic drawn out battle but he just absolutely demolishes him.

Happy the puppy survived! And not like what happened to another John and his puppy 😌 But that's another movie recap for another day~ Equilibrium was a really great little sci-fi flick, but cause it came out during the Matrix trilogy years so it suffered comparisons and died a quick obscure death soon after release.

This sounds the most like real life than any movie I’ve seen.

Not a Bale fan, but I did like this movie. Mentioned it to a professor when discussing morals, war, and killing/murder. They suppress emotions because of too much war/killing/murder, but then they still kill regardless if you show emotions.....fight scene was fabulous, though!

When I was a child I used to watch it on Studio 23 and the iconic line " I'm coming. " still gives goosebumps and hype for the first time I watched the show

Equilibrium is an absolutely fantastic movie. I remember seeing it while sleeping over at a friend's house way back in highschool and loving every minute of it. Bought the DVD as soon as I could.

There's always one emotion that can never be removed and thats the enigmatic emotion of surprise as shown by the surprised and confused guards at the end when the recordings stopped

I've known about this movie for a long time, but only just realized this If we were suppressed of all emotions, society would collapse. We would still be able to think and act according to our biology, but everything else would disappear. That includes our sense of wanting something. Want is just a lesser form of desire, which is an emotion. If we were incapable of wanting anything, we would only act on our primal base instincts which is, get food, get water and be protected from the elements. We would lose any love/connection with our infants and that would lead to the extinction of the human race. If parents aren't able to feel anything for their children, they will neglect to take care of them. If we feel no emotion, including desire or romance, nobody would procreate and have children in the first place. If there was some governing force that made us do that, it would be from a point of desire to control the situation or a desire to keep the peace, but with no emotion you can have no desire. So basically we're all dead in 60-70 years if we eliminated all emotion

This movie is my entire fashion sense - vampire with less flare. Hah, take that mom. It's not a phase. 6 cotton, wool and leather trench coats later and I still dress this way.

How ironic that we now live in a completely opposite word and still we are losing what makes us humans.

This movie was highly underrated when it released. I got confused on why people labeled this a matrix ripoff though. I mean I see it with the outfits and some of the action scenes but the entire concept is just unique and pretty fucking dope. Although I want to compare Bales character to an emotionless John wick at the end of the day so 🤷🏻‍♂️ maybe the shoe fits

As silly as Gunkata may sound, it's actually one of the coolest form of deadly arts I've seen in a while since the OG Matrix and Old school Wuxia Shaolin Movies. Also, Bale is perfect for the role.
