Corporations are given power (by the state) only to make- or well.. *improve* the economy, otherwise they would get no support and will be left to rot in the small businesses section of the economy and lesser known commerce on a small scale and even if a corporation got so big that it practically overpowers the whole nation.. in terms of economical status, it will still hold no power or even influence over the nation at any capacity, especially the political part of it but then corruption and capitalism exists, so we can talk all day and we may find no other solution than Socialism or religious economic system such as Islam’s economic system and it’s religious legislation, which I find extremely fascinating, if you know nothing about Islam’s economic system and it’s religious legislation, I highly recommend you research about it from *trusted, authentic* sources because *there are sources that says things about Islam that are simply not true and have no evidence of any of their claims, since they have no reliable or trusted sources at all whatsoever, so watch out for those while researching,* if you will research about it that is. Of course. You can also research about Christianity’s economic system, Judaism’s, Hinduism’s etc…. But then again… both of us are right here, since the possibilities of such things to happen are realistic.. unfortunately….

my thoughts exactly, it is the only sin this movie has; They had all the mutants contained, they were winning and somehow they had a lot of information about how to destroy the machine. There is no reason why this movie couldn't have taken place within the time that space machine arrived.

this would make an amazing type of fallout open world apocalypse game. looks like its set in WW2 but its definitely in the future with advanced tech. big artillery cannons, the barricades and shit are still primitive like masses of metal concrete blocks and other debri and stuff. awesome.

so let me get this straight, the machine lands 10 000 years ago when the human race is living in villages and the extend of the innovation that history has though us is that they had the wheel and some basic engineering skills however somehow the machine mechanism is hidden under a modern church that has elevators. These ancient people must have had knowledge of the future as if I am not wrong primitive elevators emerged in the late 19th century when food was being brought up from the kitchens of the manors to the dinning room and really took off with the creation of skyscrapers...and yet somehow one very modern elevators exist in the supposedly old church...

For thouse who wonders why it looks like 1900 WW1, but are sett in the future of 2707. The thing is that the movie is based on a TTRPG (Tabletop Roleplaying Game, from late 90s, with the same name, Mutant Chronicles). There are some big differance between this movie and that game. In that game the WW1/WW2 estetics or Dieselpunk grim dark estetics is actually explained. Firstly, I dont remember the "machine" being on earth, but instead on Pluto or the resent found tenth planet. But there may have been some retcons in later editions etc. When space explorers in the future (say around 2200) reached there, they stumbled upon some strange megastructures ruins of forebodeing "cthulhian" style, and the astronauts managed to wake up the dormant demonic powers withing. Some old evil chaos engine/machine from old gods or cosmic things, and they then accidentually released something called "The Dark Symetri" a sort of energy that spread out thrue the solar system, that corrupted and "possessed" dead humans and also sensitive electronics and computers. And the world fell into chaos. To adapt they had to start using "old style" , analog, manual technology (like WW1/WW2). And in the same time the "Brotherhood" was created (or appeared) to combat the dark powers with "psychics" and mysticism. The game then takes place some time after humanity rose back up, but got stuck in a war with the dark forces and necromutants. This is not explained in the movie, and they even seemingly cut it out entirely, and altered it for some reason. But they kept the "style", and therefore its seems a bit odd (and illogical). Cheers.
