They actually didn’t intend to make sequels for this movie. The car flying at the end was a joke. But then everyone loved it and basically demanded a sequel. The director said if sequels were planned they wouldn’t have ended it the way they did with Jennifer in the car

You can see the exact moment Doc gets some doubts about the rigidity of space-time continuum. When Marty tells him that George finally stood up to Biff, something that he never done before, Doc gets this confused and concerned look on his face, but at the time brushes it off before they got more pressing matters. Buy this is the event that made him keep parts of Marty's letter and eventually glue it back together. He saw Marty change events of the past and future without destroying himself or the flow of time and he decided that he could do the same

You were in the zone with this movie! If you like 50's rock n roll, you might like the movie American Graffiti. The movie was made in 1972, but takes place in 1962, the radio is on in the background through the whole film playing all the old hits. It was also George Lucas' first hit movie, before Star Wars. Another wonderful movie that has a lot of old time music is Stand By Me.

Thanks for sharing Marijch :) "I'm curious to see if I'm gonna notice again that it's, like, a very much older one than what we've been watching recently" Did Marijchu notice the movie looking very much older? "He's not gonna ruin a lot of people's futures like this by changing stuff?" During the shooting of the movie, one of the actors said he thought of the movie as a tragedy because in the end Marty's family remembers one past, and Marty remembers a completely different past. Marty is trapped as a foreigner in a changed new world, and nobody in it will ever share the past he actually grew up with. (the actress who plays Marty's Mom [Lea] talks about this in an interview for "Pop Goes The Culture")

Aside from everything else, there's imagery tributes to existing films. Including a number of nods to Fred MacMurray in "The Absent-Minded Professor" (1961) and "Son of Flubber" (1963). His eccentricity, his dog, his flying car, the way he defeats jerky opponent. Marty plays "Johnny B Goode," which causes the regular lead guitarist to get on the phone and let his cousin (implied to be Chuck Berry) listen to it, thereby setting up a paradox of where the song actually came from. Then, Marty does parodies of other music from in between 1955 and 1985, including The Who destroying their instruments on stage.

Somewhere in the Universal Studio vaults there is another version of this movie where another actor played the role of Marty. That actor was Eric Stolz. It's not a complete version due to Eric being released during the filming. He just didn't fit the role of Marty well. No real chemistry with the other actors. So Michael J. Fox was brought in. He had to balance making BTTF and his tv show Family Ties. Supposedly he only slept in the car during his trips back and forth from the tv studio to the movie set. Fox actually visited the set of BTTF while filming Teen Wolf. He said out loud that he loved the premise of the movie and would have loved to have starred in it. Well the director and producers remembered him when they let Stolz go so he got the role. There is one scene in the movie where Stolz can still be seen but it's just the back of his head. it's where Marty asks Biff "what is that" in the diner.

Do Netflix show "Travellers" it's about time travelers who go back to the present and take over bodies of people on the verge of dying and no one knows they have a new conscious. The first goes back into a woman who is mentally challenged and everyone that knows her is freaked out she's talking/acting different, another goes back into a woman with a kid whose husband is an abusive cop, another goes back with the lotto numbers and wins a lot, etc.
