My guess would be sadness but the world can be full of surprises. I didn't expect to like The Force Awakens but the fact that it put all the original elements from the original Star Wars film into it - elements sadly lost in the prequel trilogy - made it irresistable, even if it was a copied plot. Here I think they're attempting to put all the elements back that were present in the original POTC trilogy, but that were sadly missing from POTC 4. So you might well like it, there's at least a chance.

*FUN FACT:* The ship young Jack is on at the beginning of the trailer is *NOT* the "Black Pearl", well not yet anyway. It is the "Wicked Wench". You may have noticed that the sails aren't even black. Eventually the ship is set on fire and sunk by Cutler Becket in spite of Jack freeing dozens of slaves from EITC custody, which is why he is worth 100 souls to Davy Jones. Jack then makes a deal with Davy Jones to have the ship raised from the depths, renaming it the "Black Pearl". I'm sure you know the rest of the story... ;)

Forest, the origin story will come out in about 5 - 10 years, when they want to do a reboot. And it will be cast with a completely different, and young, up & coming actor.

It could be the real deal. Johnny always said he loved playing Jack Sparrow, and Disney said they would keep making PotC films if Johnny wanted to do them. But he had a rough 2016. After the divorce, his mom passing away, and the Alice sequel flopping, he may not want to be Sparrow anymore.

My mom always tried to get me into POTC when I was really little but it never interested me. So I grew out of early life without it. Around 2 years ago, during a lazy day in class, my teacher put on the 1st one (her favorite movie). So I sat through the first hour and fell in love. That same weekend I used a movie website, finished watching Black Pearl, and binged the other three. Now I can't wait to see this one!

Flying Dutchman - it was never sunk, is amphibious, the crew is damned and the captain is immortal. It's also as fast, if not, faster than the Black Pearl in most cases. Queen Anne might have flamethrowers, but they aren't much use against a ship that can't sink and can drop underwater.

Actually, this is supposed to be the absolutely last Pirates film they're doing. Last ever. For good. From what I've read years ago, the story has been in the works since before On Stranger Tides.
