My experience going in Japan has been a eye opener. Just be yourself and show your roots but in the same time respect their living standards and values. I've met loads of really helpful people. And I'm from the UK with Pakistani background. The key is to respect them first then they'll respect you. Enjoy the country, it will be worth every penny of your stay! Love you all folks xx
@SandrineJamaica
@SandrineJamaica 3 жыл бұрын
True to an extent. Even if you respect a person it doesn't stop them from not liking you. You then have to respect yourself and hold on to your beliefs in who you are as a person and walk away from anything that may disturb your mental peace

@@SandrineJamaica Wow you reply quick, do you have a day job lol hear! I hear you sis big time. If a person doesn't want to like me then let it be. I'll never lose sleep over that. It may hurt me for a moment but I move on. I do walk away with anything I'm not comfortable with. One good advise someone told me. Don't let them spoil your day. I love smiling because it makes me feel good.

@@SandrineJamaica Going and living in another country can be difficult but its up to you to adapt yourself and make it work for yourself. Of course I've had cold shoulder reactions because you're a foreigner but I just carry on doing my own business. I'm not here for you, I'm here for myself. Being a journalist has helped me overcome those barriers. At the end of the day I'm a people's person. If you be yourself and work hard you will get the rewards. My writing job has helped me to explore outside the UK. There will always be countries that will welcome me and countries that won't. But I never give up on things I want to achieve in life. The moment when I show my press card then they'll finally notice you. It should never be that way sadly. Personally status means nothing to me, I just worked hard to earn that press card. 😊

@@SandrineJamaica Thank you for your kind thoughts Sandrine you know where I'm coming from sis! Everyone goes through bad phases in life and I've had many. It's good to switch yourself off from people because it gives you valuable time to think things through. The world can be a horrible place but if you can just try a make an effort in what you want to achieve, even if its contributing to a foodback to help and poor and homeless then that's something you have achieved. It doesn't has to be anything big. The moment I arrived in Japan was to hit the town straight away and explore quickly like the nearer supermarket or park space. Things like these goes a long way in saying to yourself 'yeah I'm settled!'. The Japanese do love my English twang accent. A lot of them found it funny! I from one of Kingston, Jamaica's twin UK city by the way! 😉👊xx
