Wow. It is amazing that your home city is Novosibirsk. I remember watching your videos back when I lived in Australia. We have since moved to Novosibirsk. I along with my young family and my wifes parents and two adult children have now lived in Russia just over two years here in Novosibirsk. Small world. Novosibirsk would have changed a lot in that seven year period. I first visited Novosibirsk in 2013 and it is a lot better in some ways than it was back then. All the best to you and your family.

I loved this video so much!! I was so surprised I can already understand the majority of it, and effectively follow along the general idea even if I didn’t know some words. I watched it twice (with Russian subs on), once where I paused and looked up every word I didn’t know and one last time afterwards 😂 It was excellent practice, I’d love to see more of this. And good luck with your moving! I agree with trying out first for a year, and not have a very concrete long-term plan in mind so you can stay flexible. I hope your wife feels right at home and you both have a great time!

IMPORTANT: The procedure for employment and obtaining a residence permit for foreign IT specialists has been simplified, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. Now they can enter into an employment contract with accredited companies without obtaining a work permit or a patent. Also, they and their family members are granted the right to obtain a residence permit without an expiration date in a simplified manner.

Just a bit of advice, but as someone who used to be an immigration consultant, the biggest mistake I see when people do this is not naturalizing first. If you have a green card, you can get advance parole on I-131 and be out of the country for 2 years, but immigration people usually don't know this is not of much help, because an LPR is always resident in the US for tax purposes. And they will know this because you have to file a W-9, you can't use W-8BEN. Thus you face double taxation if you move abroad, you're not eligible for a foreign tax credit (usually). The way around it is to file an I-407 and surrender your green card, but if you change your mind, getting an immigrant visa in Russia is a total nightmare, they've got no staff at the embassy.

Как-то нехорошо такой расклад выглядит со стороны мужа - слово "нам" для меня прозвучало немножко как superimposing of your views on a woman.
@shamirwalters34132 жыл бұрын
