I don't understand people who can ever think that there is too much garden going on! Whaaat? If my neighbour had as gorgeous a yard as you do, I would be so very grateful. The privacy screening going on, the bird habitats being built, the sheer beauty! Wouldn't that be raising the values of all of your neighbours' properties? I don't understand non-gardeners... I also love adding weird, rusty elements, old baskets, etc. to my garden. Just something different than foliage for the eye to rest on. Our neighbours put a slightly rusting out fire bowl on the curb. Of course we scooped it up and are using it as a fire bowl. But inside was this rusted orb of steel. Don't know what it's purpose was, but I now have it hanging from a shepherds hook with a candle in a mason jar suspended inside. I love it.! Your gardens are so whimsically enchanting. Keep up the good work! Christine from Toronto, Canada (also Zone 6a)

I've noticed that when you start to create privacy, some neighbors don't like that. I had one set of neighbors (across the street) have a fit when i put up a fence and some skip laurel for a hedge. They like to sit around their pool every night looking into my front yard. Meanwhile i would like to block some weeds across the way and get some privacy. You gotta do what makes you happy. Your yard looks like such a happy place! Very beautiful!

Love the addition of the lanterns and the mondo grass! The hubs and I went yard sale-ing over the weekend and I came home with a bunch of plants for the garden really cheap (tip: for anyone buying plants from individuals, wash the soil off and discard in case they are pests and invasive weeds attached.) I learned that one the hard way! lol
