I am a Liverpool fan and I think you are right, a lot of West Ham fans believe in this "West Ham way" which was half a century ago, which is silly for people to still believe in because the board can't make a new manager who was only 6 years old when the "West Ham way" was last played, asking for these terms are to hard and for at least this season which you could still be 14th maybe 12th + what's happened this season at West Ham should be enough for West Ham fans as breaking into the top 6 is just so unrealistic for probably the next 2 seasons (good vid Spencer)

Really glad you mentioned about that premier league tunnel vision thing. Nothing annoys me more as a Championship club fan than top 6 prem club fans being annoyed at their team and club for reasons which so many other people have to put up with week in week out 😅

You seem like the most sensible West Ham fan I’ve ever seen. As a Palace fan, I’ve always seen you guys as a good team, not amazing but solid enough to be in and around the top 10 every year. Of course not every season is gonna be as you’d like, as most football fans would concur, but from what I observed Moyes for all his faults in previous clubs did a great job when he was last there and I thought it was harsh to sack him. I think he will keep you up quite comfortably and lead you to mid table again the following season, but I think breaking into the European places is very difficult these days for clubs like West Ham and Crystal Palace etc. For that I think you need huge investment from the board whoever’s in charge cause you could get the best manager in the world and he would struggle without the right funding.

For me, the West Ham way is playing attractive football, with a couple of flair players in the team, but also working hard for the badge as well, something that has been lacking on numerous occasions since we moved to the London Stadium. Leicester's recruitment, scouting and medical departments are better than West Ham's and until that improves, we won't be consistently finishing in the top 10 season after season

Spencer the West Ham Way is supporting the team ``come what may`` and nurturing home grown young talent `like they are fans`` and having a former player who ``gets the club`` as the manager.

Not sure this is relevant this is, but at Villa there is definitely that similar feeling from the fans to the board like they have at Leicester, and its a great feeling. Genuine ambition without being stupid, got us out the championship their first season here, spending money, confidently saying in public etc we are not a selling club and will not be letting go of our best players for a bit of dosh (it helps when they are some of the richest owners in the prem). I guess time will tell, and we've had a tough start to this season, but the whole fanbase has a great feeling about our board and are excited for the future.

Spencer in the whole history of West ham we have only had one good owner. His name was Roland Brandon and he was a life long fan and season ticket holder before becoming an owner in 1960!

I support my local team Derby and Tottenham but thanks mostly to Spencer I’ve got a soft spot for West Ham and ultimately for me West Ham could end up like Fulham and spend lots of money and end up getting relegated. But I believe that won’t happen and I hope eventually West Ham will eventually get some European football and they start getting better again.

Pretty happy about the appointment, as I was before the Bournemouth game, I might add. I think one of things we have been missing, from a fan's point of view, is clear communication from the manager. Pellegrini might have been an excellent coach, but his press conferences were depressing and void of any clues as to where the club were heading. Obviously English is his second or third language, but there never seemed to be an emotional connection/rapport with the press and therefore onto the fans I understand that Manuel had his family back in Chile , so he might have become a bit islolated, who knows what the problem was, but he certainly failed to get his ideas across. The argument that he could only do it with bigger clubs is a plausible one, but he had done quite well with Villareal and Malaga. Anyway, at least with David Moyes you know where he's coming from, so to speak. I thought he handled the awkwardness of being reappointed pretty well. Let's hope he carries on and gets this team away from the relegation whirlpool, soon. COYI

Being a Villa fan I would love to be in the position of West ham in the last Decade European football a few times but I can understand looking at Leicester and asking why them not us but look at teams like Leeds and Derby two big clubs being in the Championship and league 1 for a few seasons.

Pellegrini improved our squad, improved our position in a solid first season and brought hope back to our fanbase despite his demise in my eyes he's still a success even though he didn't achieve his target at the club

I’m amazed that you don’t know what the West Ham way is. It’s not about being a big club or winning matches. When people talk about The West Ham Way, they’re talking about passing on the ground and implementing high tempo attacking football. It doesn’t mean we’ll win, just that we’ll try. It usually results in high scoring matches and a mid table finish for us which is what West Ham fans expect.

As a neutral I think Moyes may well be perfect for West Ham for at least a couple seasons. He'll make you hard to beat and knows how to build a club. He got the shaft at Manchester. He's a solid premier league manager. Give him half a chance and He can turn West Ham into that consistent 12-8 place team in the prem. It'll take 4 or so years but then kick on with a new manager.

Unfortunately we’re stuck with the board for the long term I think the best thing they can do is stay behind the scenes and appoint a chairman like daniel levy who’s responsible for the day to day running and not just transfers our main problem is organisation and constant disagreements between the three at the top which is then trickling through the club and affecting our performances on the pitch

Moyes could do well if the board actually want to reinvest in the squad, the fact our net spend is only at something like 40m over the last 18 months shows that there was a real lack of ambition even with Pellegrini in charge. Tried to over complicate things in the end, Moyes keeps it simple and knows how to get the best out of his players, IF he’s backed in January, it could mean good things. League is still tight

Completely agree as a west ham fan. 1 of the things i hate is the idea of the "west ham" way. because (for me) i get excitment from winning rather than how we play our games.

Do you think if you guys never moved into the London Stadium some of the current problems wouldn’t be happening? It seems that the identity of the club changed so much once they moved stadiums (saying this from a far). It seemed that at the Boleyn ground, west ham were building up with small pieces. Once they moved to the new stadium, they were brazenly aggressive with some of their moves.

Moyes is a great manager, people joke about him at United, but you have to realise ever since SAF the only manager that has managed to even compete with the title since is... Mourinho. One of, if not the best manager that is still active right now. He done well for Everton, consistently and can do the same for West Ham as you're a similar size club to Everton and very much a good mid table team.

Think Moyes will be a great appointment, as you say what is the West Ham way of football. Moyes gets slated for his time at Utd but I'd blame Ed Woodward. Moyes got in Mata and Fellaini the only two players who gave 100% for any manager while at Utd. Moyes should have been given 18 months at Man Utd with a summer transfer window.

As a fellow West Ham fan, I agree with almost everything said here apart from the mentioning of Pellegrini being a likeable character. When things started to go wrong I found he came across careless and a bit ignorant to what was going wrong on the pitch...seemed he was just getting a pay cheque by the end. Don’t like a manager that can’t accept their system isn’t working!
