A kernel of K 622 in almost every line. I’m amazed at the amount of beauty a person can possess, the extra ordinarily joyful atmosphere one can ever create and the love …. ah the love, only Mozart can show us how to caress and appreciate the tenderness that is in all of us.

Sabine Meyer !!!

haha yes wholeheartedly agreed but I would just give him enough money that he didn't have to struggle for a bit. But who knows, maybe he thrived even more because he had to make money thus how eventually he left us this enormous amount of legacy. nevertheless, Mozart did have some patrons adored him in his life time. He was not always in short of money and he had lived lavishly in Vienna having parties and playing snookers and playing his own string quartets and quintets with Haydn. Not bad for a composer, not bad for a genius (cus they usually are miserable.) :)

Yes, unfortunately, we are experiencing an overwhelming amount of bad news. Let us hope it doesn't get any worse. It is so ironic that even in the midst of horrible wars, plagues, and natural disasters, gifted artists (like Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Beethoven, Rameau, Poulenc, Stravinsky, Haydn, Shostakovitch, Prokofiev, etc.) have been able to produce art like we have here.

This is an elegant and wonderfully tasty example of what can be done with earlier music on modern instruments, if the players care enough to employ some historical performance practices (HIP). I've been a performer in HIP ensembles playing period instruments for nearly 40 years, and the delicacy and style of this performance impresses me greatly. Just proves once and for all that it can be done. The beautiful boxwood clarinet with gold fittings is just icing on the cake. I believe it's safe to say that Mozart himself would have approved of this performance. My congratulations to you all. So glad this came up in my feed today!

My tuba player friend from Louisville Orchestra was driving me to his performance of Samuel Barber's Capricorn Concerto. To my surprise he said his preconcert ritual was listening to the Mozart A Major Clarinet Quintet before every performance!

Tremendous subtlety while still sounding entirely natural. I especially appreciate the very restrained use of vibrato, which makes for perfect transparency. And the piece! Utterly transporting.

Ms Meyer is known to me from the Luzerne orchestra of Abado, and long admired by me. A wonderful artist, a gift for us. But of course the quintet is just plane perfect. Thanks
