Mozart is the greatest that ever existed, I did no know something that I read on his 266th birthday, just this week. Einstein about Mozart. (Mozart's music was so pure that it seemed to have been ever present in the Universe, waiting to discovered by the Master) Nothing confirms for me more that He was the absolute greatest composer that ever lived.

I totally agree. But Mozart doesn’t need Einstein’s approval.

Divertimento D-Dur K334 , este una din compozițiile lui Mozart care solicită la maxim concentrarea și atenția instrumentiștilor cât și a dirijorului. Felicitări pentru frumoasa interpretare.

Brilliant, melodic, and so soothing. Thought I would run down a version of this particular one on KZfaq while I'm at it. I believe this was the last of Mozart's divertimentos. I enjoy listing to his Divertimentos, Cassations, and Serenades. They are so perfect, beautiful, and relaxing.

The rest of the story is worth knowing. (...) Mozart is one of the few great composers who wrote occasional (that is, non concert) music consistently throughtout his life. Some of these works were meant to provide recreation for performers, both amateur and professional, in the casual atmosphere of their living rooms; such Hausmusik incluyes the four-hand piano music, the piano trios, and the lovely notturni for voices and basset-horns. In addition, Mozart fulfilled commissions-and the request of Salzburg family friends-to provide entertaintment music for both parties and formal balls. The large number of dances-sets of minuets, contredances, and German dances-dates primarily from after 1787, when Mozart was named successor to Gluck as court composer to Joseph II, for a fraction of the salary paid to Gluck.There are three types of occasions for which Mozart wrote his entertainment music. First were the parties, were the music provided a pleasant sonic background for a social encounter. Such music, usually including strings, could be played in a large living room or outdoors, in a garden, during the summer. Second, there was the formal, ceremonial music, to add a festive quality to a wedding, homecoming, and important appointment for a local figure, or to mark a Church feast-day. These works were most likely to be performed indoors. Finally, there is the music specially conceived for outdoors performance, especially at night. Most works of this genre are for winds alone. The term divertimento and cassation apply most appropriately to the music for parties, serenade and Final-Musik to the ceremonial works, and Nachtmusik to the outdoor evening music.There is a miraculous perfection about all Mozart's music. Most musicians recognize the source of this feeling of effortless expression in his uncanny grasp of contrast, proportion, and balance. Each phrase seems at the same time a complete personal utterance, yet still part of the larger work-a scene in an act of a great drama. Moods, instrumental registers, dynamic, tempo-all are superbly balancee in a musical language of subtle understatement.The works are not conceived for serious listening; therefore, there is an intentional lightness of material and a calculated absence of over theatricality. And with such potentially fatal limitations, Mozart's genius shines most brightly of all. (Candide/CE 31074-RDL)
@johntestelin40515 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for this interesting musicological lecture. However, I think that his opera "Don Giovanni" is conceived for "serious listening". And it's meaning is deep and not aims to entertain us. It targets (how many of us?) an enduring need for fulfillment which makes us feeling like burning in hell! In the case of Don Giovanni, sex is not the way to get our unmet needs fulfilled. It's greed put a sexual level. Well put Wolfgang! In the "Amadeus" of Milos Foreman, the sequence of Don Giovanni going to hell is stunning.

I think this is the best mozart on youtube. These musicians are tighter than a bulls ass in summertime. Truly amazing! The tuning, the crispness, the clarity and well executed strength of them all. Wow... Way beyond just the technical and far into the musical.
@josephbarbarie6922 жыл бұрын
I'm no farmer -- but I think bull's asses are usually tighter in the winter, or possibly the spring? Summer, on the other hand, I believe causes more flatulence, and hence more rectal looseness. Again, I claim no real expertise here. But your point is well-made.
