The Symphony No. 25 in G minor, K. 183/173dB, was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in October 1773, shortly after the success of his opera seria Lucio Silla. It was supposedly completed October 5, a mere two days after the completion of his Symphony No. 24, although this remains unsubstantiated. Its first movement is widely known as the opening music in Miloš Forman's film Amadeus. The symphony is laid out in standard classical form:
1. Allegro con brio, 4/4 in G minor
2. Andante, 2/4 in E-flat major
3. Menuetto & Trio, 3/4 in G minor, Trio in G major
4. Allegro, 4/4 in G minor.
With its wide-leap melodic lines and brisk musical subjects, this symphony is characteristic of the Sturm und Drang style. It shares certain features with other Sturm und Drang symphonies of this time, and is likely inspired from Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 39 which is likewise in G minor. The opening Mannheim rocket (a rising arpeggiated sequence) was quoted by Beethoven in his first Piano Sonata as the principal subject of the first movement.

Anyone comparing themselves to Mozart and being upset about not being able to do anything with their life at this age, consider the fact that he's one of the most famous examples of a true child prodigy in basically all of musical history, he had something else that can't be taught and it's just the way his mind was.

I was lucky enough to have a fantastic seventh grade teacher back in 1970. He was also our band teacher and he taught me to play clarinet. I had listened to Mozart's horn concertos at home before i realized not everyone was familiar with classical music. Anyway, Mr. Webb also taught music appreciation and I was hooked for life. I became a rural mail carrier and listened to Mozart while i delivered mail and I passed on this glorious love of music to my son and daughter. I bet Mozart was fun at a party! So a great big thank you, Herr Mozart, Mom and Dad, and Skip Webb for this gift so priceless.

@roobookaroo 10 жыл бұрын
ilkinond Same trite (and empty) comment that Mozart at 17 was not what he became at 27, or at 35. What most people are not aware of is that even at 35 Mozart was not the supremely polished composer he would have been at 45, then 50, then 60, and even then he would not have reached his final phase of absolute perfection that was to emerge when he was to reach 72 (as Verdi did with Otello and Falstaff, or Wagner with Parsifal). As we can tell from the examples of all the composers who were lucky enough to reach old age: Bach (65), Vivaldi (63), Haydn (77), Haendel (74), Rossini (76), Wagner (70), Richard Strauss (85), Johan Strauss (74), Verdi (88). The Mozart we know was still only the young Mozart of his teens, 20s and 30s. We never got to know the mature Mozart of his 40s and 50s, and the aging Mozart of his 60s and 70s.

That's a really subjective opinion by Einstein, and really if this was anything related to science I'd agree blindly but since it's about music, I certainly disagree. The complexity in Mozart's symphonies come nowhere near close to some of Beethoven's symphonies and c'mon guys literally every Beethoven sonata for piano is like intermediate level or above whereas there are many difficult Mozart sonatas but I don't think they compare to the hammerklavier

@Degree7 Emm no, not at all. Metal lacks characteristics that are fundamental in classical music as they would be: emphasis on form and estructure (sonata form, ternary form, theme and variation, round form) dynamics and expression, counterpoint and orchestration, not to mention how small is metal in terms of aesthetics and emotional expression.. These elements only appear in metal sporadically, being exceptions and not standards. When metal sounds "classical" this mostly refers to superficialities in sonority.
@wilhelmorangenbaum163
@wilhelmorangenbaum163 4 жыл бұрын
@Degree7 I talked about musical form, development, dynamics, counterpoint and orchestration (you did not mention any counterargument of how metal has any of these), at any time I mentioned harmony, that is what I referred to as regards superficialities in sonority: certain arpeggios and chords used to give an impression of "classical" harmony, not very elaborate (most metal guitarrist don't know what is a inversion o that making parallel fifths and octaves is banned in classical harmony) either because the harmony in classical music adheres to a formal development, whit some criteria regarding how and when doing certian harmonies and modulations, not the case in metal. (Not to mention that things like the Phrygian mode stopped being used after the Baroque and would not be used again if not until the end of romanticism). To make matters worse, you mention symphonic metal when I mention that exceptions are not standard, symphonic metal is only a subgenre of the many that exist in the metal, not to mention that this one does not have much emphasis either in form and structure and that the orchestrations are awful when you comparing them to classical orchestrations such as the ones of Berlioz, Wagner, Rinsky-Korsakov or Charles Koechlin. Singing tecnique is also an abismal diferrence between the two: clasical singing requires advanced tecniques involving respiration, tone creation, tuning and projetion (just listen some opera), that's not the case with most of metal (of any genre that requires microphones). I want you to be honest and answer me if Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore, Yngwie Malmsteen or Dave Mustaine (just to name a few) can compose a strict counterpoint, a double fugue or even compose something by following a basic structural form like sonata form? (things which any classical composer can do) (Malmsteen's "concerto" does not even follow the basic form of any concerto because it is very obvious that he does not know how compose one). Is ironically how big is your arrogance, calling others "pretentious" when you yourself do not know anything about what you are talking about, acted as a triggered internet tough guy because you cannot understand that one of the two types of music is obviously and abysmally inferior to the other and that the fact of thinking that there is a strong relationship between the two genders is retarted. Go study, you retard.
@wilhelmorangenbaum163
@wilhelmorangenbaum163 4 жыл бұрын
@Degree7 It can be see that the whole problem with this debate is focusing on general vs. exceptions: the point that started this debate was the relationship between classical music and heavy metal, with heavy metal being a general term encompassing a considerable number of genres, I'm talking about metal as a GENERAL, encompassing most of its subgenres, you can't do cherrypicking with one or two subgenres (like symphonic metal or "operatic" metal) or a few bands and say that dismantles my point: yes, there are progressive metal musicians for example that can compose this type of things, that does not mean this things are characteristic of most metal genres, genres such as Thrash, Power, Doom, Groove, Sludge, Death or Black (genres that are garbage by the way). Not to mention that most of the genres that you are using to "prove" your point are crosovers genres, genres that use characteristics that are alien to the base genre (heavy metal): "HURR DURR """"OPERATIC"""" METAL PROVES YOU WRONG", everything that could be considered good of that genre is not even of metal itself, it is still inferior to most classical music. Because of that, the counterargument of operatic metal singing is especially stupid, the singing style of that genre is NOT the one used in most metal genres (which is what I talk about), it is not even a singing style own of the genre, if not of an external genre. Not to say that we assume that the singing level of those singers are at a level of competence, which I cannot consider because not even the singing level of current opera singers is at lever of competence, is lower than in past decades (see KZfaq channel "this is opera" to know what I'm talking about). . Things that classical music has that (most) metal doesn't: Structured form based on the development of themes. Counterpoint and polyphonic textures. Functional sense of harmony Advanced use of instruments and combinations of tones and timbres (most metal orchestrations are crap) A high range of expressive resources and aesthetic execution. Go study retard.

I love the emotion and how dramatic it is. It's almost like it's telling a story of crime. First the crime at the beginning (fast and exhilerating) then comes the "middle" of the story where the crime was committed, but the criminal is "laying low." Then comes another escape plan with the fast pace music because the cops found out your identity and then at 9:00 comes "justice" for the family assuming the crime was murder. With that justice there is sorrow yet relief. I couldn't tell you how much I love music.

coco mango What Mozart did was listen to Haydn’s Symphony 39 which spawned many others such as JC Bach’s Opus 6 No 6 and Vanhal’s g1 all written in the then fashionable ‘sturm und drang’ style - he definitely knew Haydn’s work and almost certainly heard the other two in Vienna. Mozart then simply had a one-off attempt in this work to have a go at writing a symphony in this style.

When I started listening to MOZART's music I thought, "This guy was not human" then over time I realized that his music was the language that angels use to reach our heart. Since that day, I am listening to the Angels speak to my heart.
