She plays so heavenly. I saw another video about her personal life, she was famous for sight reading and accompanying her fellow students; her concert engagement dried out when she changed from David to Sara Davis. I can feel the music when she plays, - To be sure: There were recordings with her of rather virtuoso pieces, played as if with no effort. Listening to an aged pianist gives me hope that I can improve my playing, too. ❤

Hmmm ... let me add one opinion: I do not agree that the Mozart Sonatas are masterworks, some of them are cute, but I prefer Beethovens Early sonatas for the "sparkling Mozart". The quote from last movement of the F-major sonata is convincing, though! ❤ Yes, virtuoso.

@@dibaldgyfm9933 yes, Mozart's Sonatas are not exactly masterworks (except maybe his 14th), but his symphonic works are some of the most beautiful music in all eras.

Mozart..hah, playing horn trough my high school with a gap of 30yers, giving my best in biotech, now trying again where I took off, and of course a Mozart horn concertos.. One think is universal, Mozart are operas like everything he wrote is for voice but the most important is drama! One listening to Mozart may expect to hear real drama and that is where Mozart is on his best. As I am playing horn, my favorite piano sonata is B Major K.333 with concert cadenza and "solo" in the finale!

There is one thing. I would normally never play a scale from a longer note value entirely slured to the first note. That usually is just plain wrong muscially for me. The same goes for turnes. You usually have to seprate the first note a little bit, otherwise it just sounds akward and doesn't make musically sense to me.

In her twitter she encourages all not to think like a musicologist. You mean like Charles Rosen or Leo Treitler? What a dumb thing to say!

I think you misunderstand her point. You do need to be able to understand how the piece is written/structured. However, if the piece is analyzed to death than you don’t usually develop a personal connection to the piece and it doesn’t come off to the audience as one would want
