I never watched Curb but the reason South Park or The Office are funny is because they don't (always) mean it when they make fun of others, and the main characters aren't really paragons of the creators barely-disguised ideology. They all just want to have a good laugh. It's harder to watch a comedy show when you know for sure what the writers want you to think and feel when watching it. I wonder if the anti-woke crowd will ever realise that they're just as bad as what they think of as woke.

The problem Daily Wire seems to have with comedy is that it all is exclusively "own the libs" instead of making a good story with great messages. To try and limit the length of this comment, take Lord of the Rings. Even though the books/movies have a very conservative message (positive male heroism, standing on deep convictions, etc.) it has mass appeal. This is instead just reverse left-wing comedy. Have you not listened to what people have been saying these past 10+ years? We don't want to be preached to. Just make good content.

Exactly my thoughts after watching the episode. Focus on creating a good story and add in the message when it comes naturally. The jokes are so forced and the story is all over the place because they’re just trying to push their message above all else, even if it makes their show garbage. This show will appeal only to people who already watch DailyWire and absolutely nobody else.

That's what's so weird: the target audience is obviously boomers, but only Millennials and younger feel anything when they see the Daily Wire logo because they're terminally online. My parents sort of know who Ben Shapiro is but they probably have no idea that he runs a media company; he's just that guy who shows up in their KZfaq shorts now and then.
