Amazing to see Stephen and Neil rocking together into their old age. Saw them together the first time in the old Seattle Arena 1968 Buffalo Springfield, they opened for the Beach Boys Wild Honey tour, then came back on stage and all rocked together for the last 45 minutes of the show. Seen them all many times since, solo and together, together always seems to have a certain indescribable energy. Thanks for the upload!

Wow time flies! I was at this performance and I'm blown away looking at the date that it was five years ago. Neil just played a set. Would love to see a full show

I couldn't help noticing all the amps on stage - and they're all performing so close to them. Prob too late for ear plugs, right? Great vid!

I've always loved Neil's playing, especially his solos, nontechnical as it/they are. Stills is a killer and hugely underrated, though he wasn't underrated in the early days (if you go back to the annual Playboy annual music polls of the late '60s/early 70's, he used to finish in the top 5 in many of the major categories: best blues; best rock; best acoustic, best overall, etc.

i agree with your commit Neil plays straight from the gut not much of a tactical player n Stills is one badass on the Ax...but they play so well together it's crazy guzz there style so different Stills got funk blues running through his sole Young a little more country/rock....got to go it's beer thirty

His solos aren't flashy or grandiose. But Young possessed an uncanny ability to find the perfect notes for any given solo.

I heard that they didn’t like each other, and they were always competing against each other

@@richardhornbostel3958 Having followed Stills since the Buffalo Springfield I think that's mostly a myth. There's a video here on YT of the Springalos (Stills' name for them) making their first TV appearance on the Dick Clark Show, where Young introduces the band after first introducing himself as "Neil Young...I'm the lead guitarist", and apparently even Stills accepted that at the time, as he later told a story where in the late days of the Springalos, Young told him, "YOU'RE the lead guitarist." There's also a vid here on YT of Stills being interviewed in Minneapolis, where he was playing with his solo-act band, and he says of a recent CSN tour, "I had to play all of Neil's solos, and I couldn't improve on any of 'em." Finally, he named his youngest son Oliver Ragland, in tribute to Young, who's full name is Neil Percival Kenneth Ragland Young. No doubt they competed; musicians in the same band often do, but I think they like each other just fine. Crosby is the odd man out these days; all three of the others detest him.

Saw Neil in 1987, “Neil Young and Crazy Horse in a rusted garage” tour. The best ever! “Rust Never Sleeps” props, Steve Clone tech crew, RC rats and cockroaches, oversized telephone. Neil having goofy fun. Not a big fan of recent old Neil live shows. Ragged, but not glorious..

Easy there, KWS can hold his own. Just a generational thing.

Sorry to bring you the bad news@@petemangum4542 but with the Rides, KWS did the heavy lifting on guitar. They opened for Buddy Guy in Pompano Beach a few years back & of the 4 lead guitars that night, Mr. Stills was 4th guitar. I love SS guitar over the years, but your comment is WAY off base.
