You the driver? That's a fucking ACE save right there. Good work.
@mikepowers5723 жыл бұрын
That started to go while on throttle, the liftoff just sped up the process lol. Decent car control though which kept it out the wall. problem with the sw20 is the bumpsteer, there is a big dip just as the car started to oversteer which initiated the slide, can be corrected with the wilhelm alignment kit

Looked more like oversteer due to the crest of that mini-hill. Didn't hear any lift off at all, just rear wheels spinning up mid-corner.

Sounded like you were on throttle the whole time, and too low ROM for boost. BUT you were coming from the inside of an on-camber corner to a crest. Looks like you tried to maintain the same cornering force while all your downforce disappeared. Did everything feel light before you started to oversteer?

I have 2nd generation honda insight. Definitely not a performace car by any means. But the chassis and weight distribution are pretty good. 58/42 stock, but I also have a sound system in the back and carry some tools. After adding a rear sway and some lower stiffer suspension. The car actually has a tendency to oversteer. I've hit turns like this 65+ with good tires. Fwd oversteer is kinda scary, i remember have all 4 tires breaking loose and when i regained grip. It grabbbed HARD. Fun, but never doing that again intentionally unless on a track.

Seems the rear went light due to the crest
@thrasher10000 Жыл бұрын
I would guess a couple of things contributing to it, #1 conditions #2 possibly tires #3 a squirt of boost at the wrong time especially if it’s turned up

how would this situation have been avoided? from what i understand, hitting the crest of the hill while turning caused the oversteer, but i'm genuinely curious about how to avoid a situation like this. i have an mr2 that i would love to take to the track 1 day, but videos like this make me nervous lol

@@Xgen2 its wet, it was a low grip surface, you can see it starts to go on you while you are still on the gas, then when you realize it and lift it just compounds the issue. ive been in a similar circumstance a few times, is just crazy how quick it can go in low grip conditions. but in good conditions you can just lay on the gas no problems

Sorry to all the MR2 fanatics but this just isn't how good chasis should behave. Yeah you can say but with proper training and skill you can use it bla bla but come on. I think this kind of behavior is a design flaw which should be corrected by the manafacturer. Same as early 911 but they weren't so snappy.
@thrasher10000 Жыл бұрын
They addressed it in 93 onwards, many people still prefer the older config though. Semi slick tyres will turn it into more of a progressive slide
