Yeah, torpedo depth was one thing that I forgot to explain in the video. It was all so natural to me that I didn't even think about it lol. For the salvo, it's true, the reason why I used a salvo on a single ship was honestly just to make it look good when it explodes on the video. I tend to not use the magnetic pistol due to historical reasons. I often play at earlier dates, and often carry T2 torpedoes, thus the magnetic pistol on those torpedoes aren't really the best. Although I do use it when it comes to T3 torpedoes since in that iteration they've fixed most of the problems of the magnatic pistol. I don't know if there'll be more vids like these in the future since this is a 2-man channel and Third is too scared of simulation games. @@ImperialThirdWorldReich Magnetic is best most of the time because the impact pistol is still on as a backup trigger. However, what is more frustrating than a magnetic torp passing under a ship, is an impact/magnetic bouncing off the curved hull. Of all these issues, getting a good AOB will ensure a hit unless you have to shoot from extreme angles

I have autistically played this game so much, I've attacked ports and went through the suez canal undetected. But god damn it I keep on forgetting to open my torpedo tube before firing.

The very first battleship I sunk in the game was HMS Nelson. My submarine was within spitting distance since I've positioned my sub to stay still right on their path. I can't forget the thrill of being INSIDE their formation. I panicked, didn't even do calculations. I just set the torps to have a wide spread and fire forward when the Battleship was in front. 3 of the 4 torps hit. I crashed dived and got away. I went back later to discover the Nelson still floating, the squadron abandoned it. I sank the HMS Nelson at night, with another salvo of torps.

thats a lot of toprs lol, have you set the torpedo depth correctly ? battleships unlike the others have a lot of displacement and spacing but 2 torps in the right depth they are usually enough. yesterday i sunk the courageous with 4 salvo within 4km, but only one hit with ammo detonation. destroyers didnt even knew where to start searching i think i couldve launched the torps from the surface lol

@@airshark2764 I don't remember if I set the depth correctly. I just remembered shitting my pants off when they did hit and I ordered the crash dive. This was early in the war and I didn't have any decoys.

Not long ago I scored my first kill on 800 m (Type IIA with G7e torpedoes) the guy was wombling I missed 2 torpedoes and 3rd hit him in the engine, he was immobile and went kinda back to 1200m and sent another one. After mission I got a promotion for my crew and 2 medals. Nice

Hey I know I'm late, but just in case you're eager to get back into it. These things come as standard with the GMX super mod. All the other mods are optional and additional mods, so first install GMX then everything else afterwards via JSME mod installer. I recommend to go for the GMX OneAlex Edition, wich already includes the most important sub mods and comes with all the nice tools like JSME, multi SH3 and SH3 Commander. I just recently came back to SH3 due to Toncii's and Wolfpack's videos. ;) Cheers

I can't quite remember myself but if you can find it i think right clicking on it will flip the stop watch around and reveal what you looking for...but it's not a very accurate tool and i don't think the germans actually used such a device....instead bud learn to use the RAOBF wheel, plenty videos on how to use that it's much better and far my useful.

and these days you want to down the free version of SH3 GWX onealex edition it's the most up to date and it blew me away how good it is.

also lol sorry....Tonci87 has a fantastic hardcore SH3 playthrough presented in a very immersive story format using the GWX onealex edition, he teaches all sorts of examples in that series we're upto 72 episodes.

I have no idea how to make mission, sorry man. As for mods well... The Gray Wolves mod has their own installer now, just download it here: www.thegreywolves.com/downloads/ They also have a PDF to explain the changes and the additions their mod has to offer. I haven't really tried using any other mod besides some quality of life changes, and those mods have their own installation stuff to worry about like higher res and what not. There's a lot of written guides out there for installing mods, I've heard there's even mod managers and stuff, I personally haven't tried it. Will maybe try the mod where you can control surface ships, but I feel like that's stretching the game a bit and I dunno if it's compatible with my mods. Who knows, good luck out there.
