I struggle with insomnia and I have had plenty of mris and I always fall asleep to the sound it calms my anxiety and puts me out in a few minutes this is perfect so I can actually sleep at night!

I have insomnia due to Spine injury and sciatia from last 13 years. I had almos 20 scans of all three parts of spine, knee and brain. (Had a major accident). But I always fall asleep in MRI machine. Always. I have so much anxiety but this calms me down

Where are the loud honking and knocking sounds? Those are so restful.

The knocking noises is the gradient coil's, and the honking noises are also the gradient coils. I don't know exactly why, try searching for a youtube video for more explaination.

этот шум когда мрт ничего не делает. в комнате мрт обследования (в клетке фарадея) сейчас звуки воздухообмена и холодной головы. и всё. кошмар начнётся, когда они запустят программу сканирования и начнут грохотать и выть градиентные катушки.

the sound you hear is the coldhead, which is responsible to keep the coils cold when rubbing against each other during a scanning session

I absolutely love mri sounds. Some may be loud others may be quiet and soothing and some may just be plain weird and funny. Never know what sounds will be produced. Mri techs know but me as a regular civilian who knows a little about mri don’t know what sound will come and when
