Where was the Dutch food? When I think of Dutch treats I think of Drop (Not autodrop, traditional black drop), pepernoten, stroopwafels, etc.

Je ziet in een multicultureel land vanalles liggen. Smoeltjes bijvoorbeeld zijn van Hellema: Deze maken overal ter wereld koekjes. Het is dus niet "puur Nederlands".

You don't put nutella on your bread if you're gonna use sprinkles.. The sprinkles he used are already chocolate flavoured so why would you put on both? Don't really get why he thinks we do that lol. Butter is already sticky so you also don't need it for the stickiness.

I'm at the start of this video, I'm dutch and I'm expecting Drop, Kruidnoten and stroopwafels. Let's see what I guessed correct xD (There's always drop) You pronounced "Maastricht" wrong. xD the ch sound is pronounced with the typical hard-to-pronounce "GGGG" sound. O my god, schat kistjes, I used to be so addicted to those! But.. No drop, kruidnoten or stroopwafels? I'm disappointed in the person who sent you that package.

Oh well.. i really don't like stroopwafels anyways, i don't really get the appeal. They're just VERY sweet and the cookielayers are kind of soggy/soft, i'd rather eat something crispy. But mostly i'm upset that there were no old fashioned dutch candies or drop in the video.

you have to taste pepernoten! they are small cookies and we eat them when sinterklaas (men with white horse) comes. you can also buy them with a choclate layer all around them and they are delicious.......

The Dutch and Flemish Belgians are fanatical about chocolate sprinkles. Jeremy Clarkson did a show about Europe several years back, and spoke to some people in Belgium about them.

I know you hate liquorice but you should really try Dutch liquorice otherwise known as drop, it's really really different from your liquorice and it's delicious.

This is a very poor selection of "Dutch" treats. Most of these arent really Dutch at all and are commonly seen in many countries.

Yep the Netherlands have a great taste of candy/sweets I'm from the Netherlands too And have a tip for jou, use only butter on the bread and than the hagelslag. Than you can taste the things more.

Pepernuts are Sinterklaas treats! That is on 5 december. Kids get treats from 'Sinterklaas or Sint Nicolaas'. The 'Zwarte Pieten' go trough the (idk what it is in English) the 'Schoorsteen' in the night and put litte presents in the shoes of the kids. Of course is that not real, the parents do it all. My English is not very good 😅

Speculoos are actually Belgian biscuits and speculaas (which are less known in Belgium) are mostly made in the Netherlands. Speculoos contains barely any spices and indeed uses burned sugar (caramel) instead. Speculaas are softer (and do rise a bit) and contain spices like ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom,... ps: you need to try the speculaas too!

Dutchy here! Just something I noticed: It was said she lives in Holland, and in the City of Maastricht. However, Holland is actually a region within the Netherlands consisting of 2 provinces Noord (North) Holland and Zuid (South) Holland. This region is, if I'm not mistaken, the most populated, and also the most visited by tourists. Maastricht is in the Province of Limburg, which lies in the South-East of the Netherlands, whereas the Hollands lie in the Centre-West. U should try Stroopwafels, it is the best , well better said, the very best treat in the Netherlands, also try Drop, then u can choose between Salty and Sweet. Try it , u would love Stroopwafel for sure

ITS so funny how you pronounce everything!! (Im dutch) speculaas is sort of pronounced spaculas. Im realty-show dissapointed they didnt send you drop (liquorice). (The autodrop wasnt real drop) Cause whenever foreigners try liquorice for the first time they always have a funny reaction. Especially salmiak! Maybe i'll send You some!
