Yeah, y’all are forgetting how he started: committing himself to ridiculously difficult challenges. The way Mr. Beast understands capturing people’s attention and producing content is pretty unique. He actually comprehends how people with intake and interact with his content. Every second, every promo, ever decision is engineered. It’s actually super impressive.

Right I think the value of Jimmy's brain is harder to understand since we're all used to seeing his antics for years at this point. People who have been watching KZfaq now understand his formula and execution because they've been exposed to it for so long but in a world without it I don't think many people would be able to capture the same success he has

i feel like something mrbeast does that always gets us back and wanting more is he never fully shows something, he puts so much detail into a build or idea, he'll show it for a few minutes blow it up and rush to the next thing, he could have easily showed slow-mo, different angles, multiple times and easily had made the video 5x as long, but its quick and rushed in the perfect blend and always just makes me want to see him do it again.

@@rectov9003 Well, that's arguable too though, he only got mainstream viral after spending tons of production for a video. He got somewhat viral by his counting up video, but the next videos after that that truly got him viral are all connected to him spending stupid amounts of money. It's undeniable to say money didn't factor in. Money isn't the ONLY thing you need, especially if you're out of touch on the internet like most millionaires who try youtube are, but it's a thing that helps out a lot and is definitely more of a factor than the personality. The personality just makes things happen, but the money allows it to happen. Both are needed (for reliable and consistent instant* success, which is the premise), and personality is easier to adjust than becoming a millionaire in a month's time.

For the argument in the beginning, i think that Ludwig doesn't quite understand how much luck you need to become, like actually successful on KZfaq. When he did the whole, making a channel anonymously, he came to the conclusion that it's primarily skill that is required to become successful, but like he used his own resources to get to that point, everything from using his money to hire a voice actor and to promote the channel. But the biggest thing that Ludwig never mentioned in that video was that the channel he made wouldn't have gotten anywhere had he not talked about it on the Yard, after which the channel popped off with like 10k+ searches and the algorithm then picked it up. I think it's more of a case of 'You need luck to become successful on KZfaq, but you need skill to stay successful'. Ludwig is obviously a pretty smart dude when it comes to the second part, but like he would not be where he is now if it wasn't for luck in various areas of his streaming and youtube career. Same with Mr. Beast, though to a MUCH more extreme case, i mean for goodness sake, the guy started off his channel by making fucking 'Counting to 100k and 1 million' type of videos, where he would sit in his room for hours, looking at the camera and just counting. He's honestly insanely lucky to have been picked up by the algorithm and that people thought his content was funny. What sets him apart from all the failures of youtube, is what he did with his newfound fame. He kept building his brand, one brick at a time, making interesting content that he was now able to afford, which he definitely would not have been able to afford had he not gotten incredibly lucky with youtube.
@noone-cz8tm
@noone-cz8tm Жыл бұрын
I think you said it quite right but quite wrong. Most people on KZfaq will be given an opportunity, a big one even, to be blessed by the algorithm and have a successful video/... (things that people call luck) but they can't succeed in their other videos. The evidence is this is that there are a lot of channels where only one video has around 1M views, while other videos have only 1-5k views. Why is this the case? It's because the skills/brain/knowledge of KZfaq are the things that you need to take advantage of that opportunity and eventually succeed. MrBeast has those skills while others don't so they don't succeed, it's simple. All successful people need luck, while not everyone who has luck is successful.

Even the permits for a burn tower training session - non flammable building, pallets of wood are burning to simulate a live fire environment - are a ton of paperwork. Burning an actual house is a ludicrous amount of red tape - I know the fire marshal on a personal basis and it would be almost impossible for me to get permission for any reason.

They weren’t real explosives when they were standing next to it. The boxes and classic red sticks is just prop TNT and not what actual explosives would look like. The use of and storage of actual explosives requires licensing that is very difficult to get and only owned by demolition, defense, and special effects companies. The guy said it took 7 days to build. There’s no chance they left thousands of pounds of real explosives and 100k of real money in a field for 7 days. I’m sure that day of they hired professionals to come out and rig up the actual explosives. Also clearly done by a special effects company as TNT doesn’t explode in a fireball like in the video. They added a second flammable compound on top of the explosives to look better. Incredibly impressive still

The reason so many people thought it was CGI is because they used something called optical flow to slow down the video. For example, if you only shot in 30 fps you can't slow the video down too much because there just aren't enough frames to make it look smooth. But what optical flow does is that it uses algorithms to guess what the frames in between frames might look like. So if you were to slow it down 2x, half of the frames would be computer generated. This is noticeable at 16:00, at the very bottom of the screen the bar completely morphs because the camera was shaking so much that the computer wasn't able to accurately generate those frames. There is no reason for there to be CGI there. You can also tell if you look at the mannequin's head mid-air. creds: @markkisthebest
