Great tutorial. You might consider flipping the normals on the underwater bubbles as they are air in water rather than water in air.

Hey, thanks for this tutorial. I think you might have shown me why I have so much trouble getting water sims to look right. I tried to do a vortex like that and it never worked. I've got to open that file up and check it out again.

7:05 I haven't tried it, but isn't alpha transparency more expensive than adding geometry, at least in Eevee? AFAIR in the case of leaves on a tree, it's usually recommended to actually cut out the shape instead of just having an alpha map on a square plane.

Use the ocean modifier on your surface mesh to add some more dynamic movement instead of using the shaders.

That's a good idea- if you've tried it, what's the performance impact? Applying modifiers to fluid meshes is usually pretty slow.

@@MrCheebs So firstly, I use the FLIPFluid add-on which I highly recommend getting when on sale if you like fluid sims like me, there are some overlaps with fluids in mataflow though but it has a lot of benefits. The modifier can be applied to the surface and is best when you want a more realistic ocean look, so maybe a large container of water which is rocking will produce some disturbance but the modifier will add that extra impact. here is a link that has some info on modifier advice it is not comprehensive but worth looking at, blendermarket.com/posts/flip-fluids-10-tips-to-improve-your-blender-workflow. I have not tried it myself however I always apply a smooth modifier to the mesh and It can take a minute to apply the settings but it does not seem to effect the play back speed much. It will be scene dependent but try it as it may increase render times but I am not 100%sure. Remember you can remove the modifier in the viewport once you know it looks good. you could renderer a test animation using matt colours for the water (with not particles) so see if the surface looks good. be careful, you don't want the displacement on the sides only on the surface, so a displace modifier locked in the z direction only could be more effective than the ocean modifier. keep up the great videos

What about the grid pattern on foam? Is there a way how to fix it? or Do we have to change the obj in colection?

Particle option is gone in blender 3.0 any do u know it's where abouts😂

I used a guide object that I animated to spin, but you could also use a vortex force object to get this effect.
