I expected a lot better pattern play from Alex. I lost count of the shots he took without any apparent insurance ball. He went into the stack with nothing more than a hope that a shot would develop out of the clusters. His lack of pattern play at the end of most racks left me scratching my head. It seems very apparent that Alex really didn't take the high run contest very seriously. It is only a tribute to his shot making talent that he was able to get 168

It's encouraging to see these pros struggle and make the same mistakes that I do. But they recover much better.

They might be clapping at the fact that he has reached a certain number in his run.
