MIB2 touch screen and proximity sensor test (VW Audi Seat Skoda)

How to check in Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda cars if the #touch screen is working properly and if the proximity sensor recognizes your hand when you are reaching towards the infotainment display. #MIB2 units have special test mode available as part of the hidden developer menu. You can check if the touch surface mapping is correct and if the infrared hand detection bar is working correctly.
🛠 Press and hold MENU button for about 10 seconds and wait for the "testmode menue" to appear on the display. Release the MENU button and navigate to HMI Debug menu. Here you can find proximity sensor and touch surface tests.
ℹ️ Developer mode needs to be enabled in the MIB2 unit first, to enter the diagnostic tests.
🚗 This video was made in Volkswagen Golf MK7, but the same #test procedure should apply to other VAG cars with MIB2 system. Including, but not limited to: Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon, Skoda Superb, Audi A3 8V, Volkswagen Passat B8, Volkswagen Polo.

Thanks for the info. Lovely vid. I tried this as my touchscreen isn't working. However when running the touchscreen test, the coordinates for mine at set at x = 0 and y = 0, and dot is stuck in top left corner it doesn't follow my finger touch? What could that mean or what problem please?

Hey question when connected via android auto wireless and listening to spotify the audio mutes when my finger comes close to the radio, also the audio mutes when a setting is selected. any ideas?

I'm a bit confused regarding cold weather touch issues: will this test will fix the issue or will just show that this is ghost playing piano on the screen?

This procedure will not fix the display. It's intendent to check if the screen is working correctly and to find zones of the touch surface that is misbehaving.

Hi, i have adapt my mib2 for multicolor. the background light option did appear, unfortunately only have factory blue color option, even i have code color for 10 color. Any help?
