Oh man. I've been waiting for this! This game was a bit too close for my liking! The offense was up and down, mostly safe throws with Andy at the start. It's understandable though since he's just coming back from injury. Pratt was easily the MVP this game. His returns were so huge and his receiving touchdown was awesome. I'd try and get him really involved in the passing game if you want to go deep. If you put him in motion and a Linebacker has him in man to man coverage it's over. Offense showed some spark, but they still need to find their identity like you said. Holland looked good from what we saw, and Higdon didn't get much screen time but he looked nice on that first touch. It must be hard getting all these Running Backs involved. David McClelland lived up to his hype, at least on the offensive side. I hope to see him more on the defense because he seemed invisible out there, but that's a good sign too if he's not getting thrown at. This defense is young so I'll try not to be too hard on them, but they need to fix those run defense issues. You won't win many games if you get gashed like that, well...Not until the offense finds its groove. Of course the dropped interceptions will always haunt us, but this is a good sign if you still managed to get 2. They also made the stop when you needed the ball back. I see a lot of potential in this defense again, but I expect them to be better next year instead of this year. Overall nice win. Hopefully the offense gets better, because during that short time in week 1 when everyone was healthy...This team looked scary good. These receivers gotta make a name for themselves if we want another scary offense though.

By missing one FG, this new kicker is already the worst one Cane's ever had.

I really appreciate all the work you put into these videos, Cane. They're so entertaining to watch, no matter if it's Madden, NCAA, or something on your Let's Play channel. You really deserve a lot more subscribers. And the reason the Gophers struggled was because they were still recovering from the departure of their fearless leader, Leon Daniels.

Well you certainly keep it exciting. 1. Please remember that Martin Parker is your # 1 receiver for a reason. He can be both a possession receiver and a deep threat. You need a possession receiver for 2nd and 3rd downs. 2. Aaron Higdon is averaging a beastly 7.5 yards/carry. I like Pratt, he won the game as a return man. But he's a change of pace, speed back only. If you're hammering yards out down the middle it makes sense to alternate Higdon with Holland more.

having mckenzie back this season is awesome. Even though johnson was good last season, it amazing to wonder what could have been had mckenzie played last season with guys such as martindale, dockett, kirkpatrick, etc. this year has some new bright young guys but the seniors on offense that would have played with mckenzie had he stayed healthy. mckenzie is back but with a slightly weaker team.

What a game...

This was a very frustrating, heart-wrenching game. The offense, defense, and even special teams came up clutch. The offense, the running game pretty much picked up where they left off, being good. I expected the passing game to be a little bit better, with the exception of Andy's TD pass to Maurice Pratt, but will get better. The defense just made it frustrating. They weren't getting any pressure for most of the game, the run defense usually is the one making the plays but did not show it today, and the pass defense missed a lot of opportunities that they should have taken the advantage of. The ST is going to be scary, enough said. Andy had a great 1st game back, watching him get hit was nerve racking, but when I see him get up, I breathe a sigh of relief. This is just the 1st game of a long season, you can do this Minnesota

The wait is finally over!

For some reason Hawaii always seems to surprise me. When I first played them I looked at their roster and at that time all I seen was slow ass players and thought to myself "what a gimme". To my surprise they played very well and my game after the first half was tied 28-28. I ended up shutting them out the rest of the way and won but they certainly surprised me. Virginia Tech always seems to play me very tough even if they aren't having a good year.

Well, this was closer than i expected...

Well that was nail-biting material. Always good to see this team continue to be clutch as per usual. Offence... Good for about 20/30 per drive. Obviously the ReD zone is something else with Andy just back into things and without (Besides Holland) experienced and proven backs. To put it simply good in the open field, shakey in the red zone. Mediocre day, but this offence can do special things in the latter. Defence... Good start with the interception, but for one terrible against the run. But that's what happens when you lose 3rd nose tackle John Meyer. Good coverage for most of the game, some lapses but that's aloud. Its seemed that this offence had turned from slaying the run, to covering down field well and that's a first for this team. and what all the hype was about... Andy McKenzie. First things first amazing Quarterback, no confidence. That especially shows in the red zone. But he still showed that he can run and throw it 60 yards. Can't wait to see him back at his peak. Also great performances from Pratt and McClenend (butchered it namewise) 99 speed proved itself well and continue to abuse it for as long as you have it. And for Mr. 2-way great showing at wide out. Can't wait for those highlight plays. Overall extremely average game lots to improve on. Prediction 9-3

Higdon misses a lot of blocks in the 3 rb pistol formation. Maybe you can put Mark Green in that Fb role and Vincent Smith at Te. Im sure you can find somewhere else to throw in Higdon. Also, id like to see more of Martin Parker; he caught a lot of passes last year and im expecting to see more of the same this season. Going into the game i was pretty excited about the front 7 they didn't live up to their hype at all. Hopefully they just need some time to gel and get back to how they were playing late last season. All in all good game. Keep up the good work. Make sure not to be too reserved with Mckenzie, let him "spread his wings."

Ik u want to b safe with Andy but u got 2 run more with him that is his game. Those QB choices is his type of game. Andy is a lot like Trevor Knight

I love your idea, but you need to get Higdon out of the Diamond package. Other than that one play where you hand it off to him, he is a liability. He can't block anyone, rendering your counter play to his side completely useless, and that is usually a very good play.

No matter what you say, 'Cane, I am not a fan of the "vertical game" obsession. Your Gophers won the great ones in past years when they dominated the run, and the same will be true here as well. Ball control and defense is fundamental football, so go play it.

You're holding Andy back, let him run freely. He doesn't need to sit in the pocket constantly.
