Shopping List:
1 cup uncooked rice (cook per package instructions and cool/dry)
1 lb medium or large shrimp
2-3 cloves minced garlic
2 eggs
1 diced onion
1-2 tsps sesame oil
1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
2 tbsps butter
1-2 tbsps hoision sauce
3 tbsps soy sauce (to taste)
1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots
1/2 cup diced green onion
AP Seasoning and Lemon Bae (optional)
1 tsp chicken bouillon powder (to taste)
Avocado oil

LMAO at “if you don’t like peas and carrots you should grow up!” I use a frozen mixed veggie bag of peas, carrots, corn and green beans in my shrimp fried rice. Guess I’m real grown! 🤣

I can’t find the fried rice that we used to have at a couple places in my hometown. Everyone is cutting corners on everything and the art is lost! It’s so disappointing! I CRAVE it so badly!!!! I can literally still taste it!!!😫😫😫😫😫

It is way more better and satisfying when you make it at home. Lately when I order out it has been greasy ,not good as it used to be ..like they think we won't notice if the rice is not good.

Made this for dinner and it's delicious 😋 my family loved it. I added bean sprouts like the restaurants do cause my dad loves them and used brown rice. It's a delicious recipe and very easy. You weren't kidding about the easy part

You’re so right! MSG isn’t the demon we make it out to be at all. I love it and use it in everything! And the chicken bouillon too. I boil my pasta in chicken bouillon - y’all should try it, it’s next level good for your favorite pasta dish! Some people may get a little tummy ache or headache from MSG just like anyone can have a negative reaction to onions or anything else! Don’t be afraid of it.

Just made this last night! Epic! I added a few chicken thighs to make it more like a “house fried rice.” I bet a little shredded pork would be great along with the shrimp and chicken too! Matt mentions adding other proteins if you want. I love how Matt emphasizes options in his dishes!

Love that you use same day made rice & frozen shrimp ... I do it all the time... if I cook the rice early in the day, I spread it out on a sheet pan or casserole dish and leave it in the fridge uncovered for at least 2hrs ... but, sometimes u have a last minute craving so u just do what u gotta do ... my mom makes fried rice when she needs to get rid of stuff too ... its so good ... eggs, every veggie we got & she will even shred pieces of deli ham in it. When I make shrimp fried rice, I usually drizzle just a bit of sesame oil at the end after turning off the heat because even though it is strong, it tends to lose its flavor if you cook it too long ... I love to add butter & garlic to mine. I love hoison sauce but if I'm making shrimp fried rice its because I'm looking for something savory/salty & rely on the peas and carrots for pops of sweetness. Definitely love this recipe & the tips. Looking forward to more videos & finding your products in stores. Thanks! 😊

This looks like a great, simple, effective recipe. Since I moved from the Midwest, I've noticed that it seems the Americanized Chinese food restaurants here in the DMV present with yellowish, bland fried rice, and I can't get with it. Better to make my own! Thank you!

Yes, I love making my own Shrimp Fried Rice. My only difference is I use Oyster sauce oppose to the hoisin sauce. And that bouillon added is the key!! Thank you for that!!
