my most anticiaped for 2024 is rivals 2 cuz rivals of aether is just have smash but make it more moddable to the point where its all mods

Indies are in their golden era imo, this video is smash after smash, I want them all! 😭 I’m way more excited for them than I am AAA games these days! Also Pepper Grinder, Freedom Planet 2 and Beserk Boy are other recent indie releases I hope to get on physical. I agree with your opinion on Hollow Knight, that game is incredible, I’m so stoked for Silksong!

Still blows my mind that a sequel to hades is actually going to happen. Can't wait for it! Plucky squire has one of the most interesting settings I've ever seen too. Great selection buddy! Let's hope you finally get your silksong!!!

Thanks so much buddy. Yeah, really is so cool Hades 2 is being made, especially as Supergiant Games have never made a sequel before! I’m so excited for Hades 2, Supergiant are an amazing dev, and I really feel H2 is gonna be something special, with everything that’s been revealed so far. In terms of Silksong, absolutely buddy, but whenever it’s ready is cool by me, so many amazing games were being treated to in the mean time. Thanks so much for watching, my friend! Heya Indie, thanks for the video! Some thoughts: Still Wakes The Deep looks awesome but my heart wouldn't like me to play these kinds of games. So I'll watch someone else play it xD 6:32 Eeeew! The Spirit of the Samurai hits a very sweet spot of Creepiness! But my absolute top pick is actually the first one. Replaced looks so awesome! It's on my wishlist now, thanks for the recomendation!

Awesome stuff my friend, great pick - REPLACED sure does look fantastic. In terms of Still Wakes the Deep; it is supposed to be more psychological horror, as opposed to gore, but there are some bits which have that imagery by the looks of it tho. @@TheIndieGamerSymphonia was probably my favourite surprise from this video. As a musician, I always love seeing media about music! Neva and Indika are probably the two indies definitely releasing this year that I'm most interested in. Although they don't have release dates yet, I'm super excited for Silksong and Crowsworn, because I'm a huge metroidvania fan!

if plucky squire releases polished and running well on all platforms, that game i feel will be a hit but polish is really rare these days.

Definitely agree. It has a ton of potential to be a real gem of a game. The dev have spoken recently saying that they are still on track for a 2024 release - so that’s great to hear. Fingers crossed it meets its potential. Thanks so much for watching! 🙏😊

Bro You are a underrated youtuber, you upload high quality vids. Keep up the work mate. But i just have a doubt, what recording software do you u use. Whenever I use obs it is of low quality and laggy no matter what kind of optimising i do, the same applies to nvidia geforce recording software.

Thank you so much for your kind words, that really does mean a lot! In terms of recording game capture; I use GeForce Experience, seems to record really nice. Just make sure u set the settings right, to the right bitrate etc. I do use OBS too, mainly for if I ever go live tho, or want to record and speak simultaneously. GeForce experience seems to be best if you’re recording footage and then are going to record voice over after. What settings are u using and what pc do u have? Be happy to try and help. really excited for replaced , the plucky squire, harold halibut, hades 2 and silksong (ps the devs of earthblade confirmed that sadly the game wont be releasing in 2024 and had to push to the next year 😔)

Yeah, I saw that regarding Earthblade. It was just after I had recorded the video, had to re recorded it to take out the coming this year lol. I was half expecting them to push it back though to be honest, it’s a bit like another Silksong scenario - awesome dev, keeping the team small so the game is at its best, and lots of pressure on them after a hugely successful last game with Celeste. I'm on a lookout for the early access release of "Detained: Too good for school", "Replaced", "Menace", "The Scramble Vice", "Gestalt: Steam and Cinder" and "The Tohou Empires". To cover all of 2024's upcoming releases worth noting, one would need at least a top 50 list. This one is pretty good too.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when compiling this list 😅. It could easily of been a top 30 or 50, some games like crowsworn, have drifted to 2025, so I didn’t include games like that, or ones which I thought weren’t gonna make it this year. Only one I did was Earthblade - as when recording, it was still saying 2024, but was delayed just before I was gonna upload, so made a quick adjustment lol. I always search indies in the hopes of another Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Towerfall, etc. Something to play with friends with interesting ideas. This year looks very heavy on platformers.

There are certainly a lot of awesome platform based games coming this year (lots with different takes on the genre though that keep it fresh), but there are definitely an absolute ton of others too - Harold Halibut launches today, super creatively made narrative driven game, and others in this vid and beyond. Can you really still call Hades and Hollow Knight sequels indie games?

Oh absolutely! I understand why you’d ask that though. But just because both of those games have been incredibly successful, it doesn’t change the fact that they are both self published games, made by independent teams. Supergiant Games are deffo a slightly larger team than Team Cherry, but they both are small teams focused on keeping the team tight & close nit so they can make sure they deliver on quality. Team Cherry are still a tiny team, of around 5 I believe, which again makes sure the quality will be top notch as it is made by the core team, and not diluted down throughout lots of employees.
