The one he used is the less compact, laid out version that is there so people can see how it actually works. So that by itself is more or less a tutorial on how to build one... Like it or not but you will require some understanding of math if want to create your own one from scratch.

This was, honestly, a tutorial on how to copy from workshop and paste it on your game. It like it explained. I don't understand Logic that well. This system seemed to use 4 or 5 different chips.

Based on what the developers replied to someones comment about the direction sensors it doesn't seem that easy to make your own autopilot when it comes to entering a way point. Basically you use trigonometry to work out the bearing from your boats current position to the way-points position. This is the direction the boat needs to travel. To get on course you need to compare your current bearing and the bearing you calculated and adjust the boats course so that they are the same. First you then need to covert the compass sensor output because it goes from 0 being north to 0.5 being 160 then it goes to -0.5 down to 0 again for westerly directions. Once converted to degrees or radions or whatever you can either use maths or a PID to look at the difference between the boat heading and desired heading and output a suitable rudder setting to get you turning the right way.

i added this to my ship today, didn`t work at first. checked the video 6/7 times to make sure everything was hooked up the way it should be, and it was. i forgot to merge the autopilot sub-assembly to my ship, so it did not work hopefully this will help other people prevent the same mistake!

1, I started going on workshop to find the creation 2, didn't find it 3 sad 4 I had an idea 5 copied it from scratch 6 paused the vid when saw logic 7 coppy logic 8 happy 9 tested it 10 failed 11 sad 12 engine blew up 13 panik 14 put out fire and weld it 15 kalm 16 happens again 17 ded 18 goes back in to find what the creation was called 19 finds it 20 gets it 21 repeat the steps of vid 22 proud 23 test 24 works 25 Yay

My dream is creating an autopilot with multiple waypoints. They should be seted via map and touchscreen. The idea is to go directly to the goal and if any island on route, you can easily bypass it. And if I need to search manually, I could program it to move spiral way and have manual observations

Look... Thx for your video on how to use some one else's auto pilot, thx for explaining how it opperates... But you have done nothing in any way to do a gps autopilot... Next time you post a turtotial video with logic, you will actually focus on the logic and not the shiny bits.. after watching this video I have learned how to dl some one else's stuff but not make anything.. I came here to be taught how to fish.. not given a fish. In the end this has taught me absolutely nothing about gps auto pilot.. other then connect connections proper and push buttons

I agree the title is quite misleading but making an autopilot in this game requires quite a good understanding of maths. @MrNJersey 's videos try to cover the basics of the game to help new players. He has said himself he doesn't quite understand the logic himself and if he explained step by step how to make your own system you would need to copy word for word. It's really much easier to use a workshop model.

It was the title that got me... On further review I feel a bit Hasty to my words. I do agree with my statement and also yours. He dose do a good job at explaining this with a broad brush and I can fully understand why he uses one. As rage once said... F the g rides... I want the machines that are making them... Still trying to learn the magic for my self
