So good to see you back, and especially with good old Yorkshire Puddings (the real ones.... ;-)! (Yes, I'm a Yorkshire lass). I can remember back in the day that Yorkshire puddings were served as a first course with gravy, before the traditional Sunday roast and veg. It was a way of filling up the hungry tummies, when meat was expensive. To be honest, for me that was the best part of the meal! Wallowing in happy nostalgic memories now, as I usually do when watching one of your videos 🙂

Mr Paul--you're looking so fit and well! Just lovely to see your joy, and I'm so grateful for this recipe. I've yearned for proper Yorkshire puddings, but nothing I've tried was right. You're right--every tutorial shows some fancypants beating the stuffing out of the batter as if they wanted souffles. These are perfect! And I'd expect nothing less from your kitchen.

Very good to see you getting well again, slowly but surely, and not overdoing too soon Mr. Paul. With a perfect how to do it recipe too, thank you! 😊 I used to do the mixing of the Yorkshires on Sundays about 70 years ago as a little girl and they were made exactly as you've shown, beef dripping and all, cooked in a cupcake tin in our case. Still came out delicious. I do appreciate your down to earth and unpretentious lessons, making it so much easier for anxious and insecure cooks to have confidence. 🤗 Take care and thanks again. 👍🌹

Well I'll go to hell!, my granny used to have a tablespoon that was worn out with beating, But then again she used a slightly different method. 1 heaped tablespoon of plain flour to an egg, mix. Add milk and a pinch of salt to get the right fluidity, then beat the hell out of it! but she put more batter in each tin (and got a soft bottom). The oven was set at max (220C+)with a good teaspoon of dripping in each tin and the batter was not added until the tins were smoking. I still use this method but use a hand blender to beat the mix.... I love em! Thank you for showing us a different method and style!

Paul, my mum used to make a fantastic deep pan Yorkshire pudding, but I only ever remember her using one egg. I know that you can get anything to rise if you bang in six eggs, but mum only ever used one, the sides were very crispy and the base was all soggy, but the taste was absolutely fantastic, and of course, made with beef dripping

Hello Mr. Paul . Lovely to hear you‘re from Leeds; I too am a Leeds Loiner! I was told by my Mum, back in the day, to put the eggs in first, one at a time and then add milk/water gradually too. Mine always look pretty much the same as yours, so maybe it doesn‘t make that much difference! Thanks for your recipes. Glad your fit and rearing to go again!

Hi Susan, yes, my stepfather had 5 pork butchers shops in Leeds, we had a small shop and a manufactory behind in Beeston Hill, one at the bottom of the Mecca arcade in Vicar lane, one next door to M&S and one next door to C&A and one in Cemetery road Beeston, then I had my first bakery on Roseville Road. As for the Yorkshire's I've tried all ways and it make no difference how you mux the ingredient.

Brilliant 👍 straight from the Yorkshireman's mouth. 🥰 . It's funny...I had been brainwashed into thinking you need the centre to rise. I use all milk... and they are a bit stodgy. Looking fwd to try this. 👍

I used to make these with my mum every Sunday lunch 60 years ago. The way you make them is exactly the same. Thank you for reminding me of the recipe. The only difference is we sometimes had them AFTER Sunday lunch with jam in them as a pudding.

Yes, as kids we had exactly the same. also in Yorkshire it was customary yo have the Yorkshire pudding as a starter with onion gravy and not on the plate with the Sunday roast.

I just made my first Yorkshire pudding for Christmas, I watched many videos and the recipe is pretty similar, but your technique is different. I enjoyed my puddings very much, but now I must try your technique these look fabulous. Some in my family thought mine were greasy and I thought maybe I put in too much fat. I used part lard and part beef drippings from my browning my meat. I loved the texture of them. In watching your video you used quite a bit of fat also. Guess I’ll make them just for me lol! Thank you for your expertise!
