How to turn off beeping sound on a Frigidaire Microwave model FGMV175QFA

Hey guys, I will show you how to turn off the annoying beeping sound on a Frigidaire Microwave model FGMV175QFA. It’s the model above the stove.

The microwave will keep beeping forever every 10 seconds after the timer is done.
This is a very easy and simple way to turn off the sound by setting on the control pad to have the volume to OFF.

Thank you for this, it was really driving me out of my mind. There is a special place in hell for the idiots who decided that this would be a good idea. It is really too bad that they didn't give an option to "beep once" then shut up like most sane microwaves.

There might be a special place for you for never realizing that a button labeled "user preferences" might be a solution for changing the sound.

@@FLdancer00 Not all models have such clear labeling. My settings button says "Clock Settings", with no punctuation or differentiation to indicate these are two separate functions... not exactly intuitive. Hopefully you have the decency to feel bad about mocking someone unfairly like that.

It was more than just a beeping sound. It was loud, shrill, and way more long then needed.

those who do NOT have User preference button. Try double clicking on Clock settings and select OFF by pressing START button. That should turn off the beeps.

Thank you!! You've saved cooks in the kitchen from the brink of insanity! OFF should be the default. Or at least only beep a few times ONCE when done. I'd rather leave food in the MW for days then be reminded every few moments when I'm busy.

I have a different model, so my buttons and menus were slightly different. But thanks to this video I was able to figure out how to turn off the beeping on my own Frigidaire - the awful beeping was the same. Thank you!

YES!!! You have saved me! I have a different model but control settings led me to it. Frigidaire needs to know it doesn't need to beep every 10 seconds! My other one beeped ONCE every 4 minutes.

For others who may have models like mine in which some prefix codes pop up (op-2 - op5 etc.), the solution for me was to click CLOCK settings, wait through the prompts on the first one (shown as op-2 or something) until you see 'oFF' and select that option by pushing START.... then, typical of this microwave, it just starts heating up instantly, I suppose as a display of smart-microwaving ;) to demonstrate that it has reset the beep to 'oFF.' Ha. Let it do its thing for the entire 20 or so seconds, and then it will finally shut up. (So many analogies I could make here, but I will spare you all! ha ha)

question..maybe you could help...I have same exact microwave...4 years old..this morning after my husband left for work and used it to warm up coffee...I noticed door was open and light was on...when I went to close it...the fan keeps running...something is wrong...tried unplugging and plugging back in...nothing...cooking mode is cancelled....I cannot turn it off...help!
