If you're talking about the laptop thing, the plan like Magnussen said was never to give away that info, but simply to let the govt after him and get him arrested for the vaults and stuff. Sherlock didn't know the vaults didn't exist, his intention was never to betray Mycroft or give away sensitive information. Also, Sherlock has always put his own life at stake just to not let any of his friends' come in harm's way, if that's not loyalty what is?

Its a difference that is hard to convey in text, but one is said with a gentle ribbing, the other with acrid disdain.
