Illustrative Math here, I would give it a sideways thumb! I enjoy how it’s exploration based, BUT there’s some math concepts, especially in third grade, that need to be explicitly taught with the I do, we do, you do model.

It's my first year in third grade, and distributive property was difficult! I definitely supplemented the curriculum. We use Into Math. Next year, I will try out the "Mickey Mouse" method.

We use Eureka math. Some of it I like but other things I do not. We don’t have to option to use anything else in my district.

Where in FL do you teach ? I am a teacher in NJ, but I am looking to perhaps move to FL to teach. Any guidance in any area will be much appreciated. Love your videos. I am currently also teaching the Third Grade.

We use Everyday Math. I like it but it’s a spiral and I’m not sure that’s the best for special ed because you keep teaching new skills.
