I live in a Euro-Asia country (Turkey), i can confirm that we do grow alot of our own crops like watermelons, most of the states towards the east have alot of rural lands, so theres alot of farms there, most of my older relatives live in the east and i used to visit them when i was a little kid, it was fun seeing them tend to crops.

My personal favorite "banana save" is in the 1980 adaptation of "The Blue Lagoon" by Henry De Vere Stacpoole. Fun fact, the cavendish banana was not selected to be the global banana for its taste, there are tons of better tasting banana varieties, it was selected because it has a longer shelf life and is more resistant to bruising. Both traits make it easier to ship around the world

Quetzalcoatl was a major deity in a bunch of pantheons in southern mexico and central america, the story was already much older than most of the civilizations the spanish encountered when they conquered the area. If I remember right the story goes all the way back to the olmecs who were around a thousand years or more before the aztecs even reached the area.

I have just finished 6 day hiking trip in the wild National park "Taganay" in Urals, Russia and we found many wild berries there: black current, blueberries (2 types: black and blue, unfortunately in english there is only one word for them), raspberries, lingonberries, cloudberries, honeysuckle, wild strawberries They are quite different from their domesticated forms, but still very delicious)

Fwiw, the Eurasian/African supercontinent arguably had worse native produce than the Americas. That is to say, maze corn and potatoes are much more calorie dense than wheat, barley, oats or rice. Hell, places like Prussia, the Netherlands and Ireland had state mandates that forced farmers to grow nothing but potatoes in the 18th Century. That's why they were hit so hard by the Potato Blight, cultivation had been geared toward only potatos in order to support the massive population growth and urbanization that accompanied the industrial revolution. The issue that the Americas had in regards to indigenous food production was livestock. The only domesticated animals in the Americas pre-Columbus were llamas, alpacas and dogs.

Quetzalcoatl is the Aztec name for a very old feathered serpent deity found across many cultures in Mesoamerican mythology. Kinda like how the Romans call Zues "Jupiter" or Poseidon "Neptune" the Aztecs had their own name for him. Quetzalcoatl is the name we associate most often now because that's who he was introduced as when the Europeans came over.
