What is Multiple Sclerosis ❓
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body. Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage or deterioration of the nerves. Signs and symptoms of MS vary widely and depend on the amount of nerve damage and which nerves are affected. Some people with severe MS may lose the ability to walk independently or at all, while others may experience long periods of remission without any new symptoms. There's no cure for multiple sclerosis. However, treatments can help speed recovery from attacks, modify the course of the disease, and manage symptoms.

Mental health is super important to take care of. It is not a sign of weakness to contact a therapist. No weakness to cry. No weakness to ask for help. On the contrary. It helped me. It is also something I will surely need again. There are lifelines. But sometimes it's hard to spot them. The toughest thing there is is facing yourself. Especially when MS changes one into a new self. But it is precisely this that can also be beautiful. We are still beautiful even though life has messed us up. Talk. Dare to speak.❤

Absolutely true. I see a therapist twice a month whether I believe I need it or not. My partner of 19 years left because he could not deal with my up and down symptoms. I'm not generally a complainer so perhaps he didn't know what was going on. Also - he stayed until I ended up with a bout of Cancer and through the chemo and radiation...he had enough and dumped me and my son. So - my therapist is a resource that I cannot do without for now. Also journaling has helped a lot.

I went to the ER because I was dehydrated, diarrhea and a fall. ER doc was most interested In my mental health. He read my chart and I take Prozac for depression, told him I also see a therapist and every 2 months a physiologist and take my meds as prescribed. Told him about weakness and super dry mouth. But he wanted to know more about my depression, chronic pain and illness MS was my excuse Finally another doc came in and ordered more test an I had Ecoli ,not in my brain😂

Receiving help from someone who is not involved with us emotionally is like an anchor in the midst of stormy times, it does not prevent the storm but it helps us to get through it with more chances. So glad you're getting that kind of support and that makes you feel better. Hugs sweetie. Peace.

Hey 😊hi how are u my name is lulu. Was diagnosed last year. Im 36. Not yet on DMts. Already in a wheelchair as a result of frequent infections and relapses that were not properly treated. Going through depression because of the weight gain and overall inability to do anythng. I cant even sit up straight on a chair to shower. Please share ur story with dmt how it helped ur symptoms and did u need to take antidepressants if u dont mind me asking? Because i refused to take any. I only take benzodiazipines for anxiety and my chronic dizziness. Bless u😊🙏

@@lararose9106 hi Lulu. I am currently taking the generic of Copaxone and I use baclofen for muscle spasms. The Copaxone doesn’t reverse damage, but help prevent further damage. There are things I do that help manage my symptoms and I believe helped me reverse some symptoms (I had foot drop). I eat a whole, food plant based diet, exercise regularly (yoga really helps me), try to get good sleep, practice mindfulness, and take supplements under the guidance of my neurologist and naturopathic doctor.

@silentneo1431 sign up for ss disability by going to the website, then you appy for the ticket to work program. Foster parent is harder, weeks of classes. They investigate you and your home. Then you get a preteen or full teenager, all you have to do is listen to them learn to love each other and teach them the skills to survive on their own.

HI seb have seen some of your videos and you seem to be doing a lot better. I'm impressed about the stairs and not having to hold on. Are you still on ocrevus? I'm trying to get on it. Did you feel it helped u wih spasticity. I will try wahls protocol. Thanks m

Hey Mary, thanks for your comment. Ocrevus is great because it’s only twice a year and I have had no disease activity, but I can’t say that I have felt great on it. Maybe it’s just me but there does seem to have been a slow worsening in the past three years. I hope you find something that works! 🙏🏻🧡

@@LifeofSebMSdear seb i just read your comment on ocrevus because i was offered that and assuming after my MRI that the neuro will insist on the highest efficacy whch is ocrevus. But ive been hearing alot that mris are clean but the disease continues worsening. Have u discussed that with ur neuro? So ur symptoms havent improved if u dont mind me asking🙏 because all drs care abput no new lesions and dont care about symptom control or disease worsening. Its really frustrating.
