Kamala's family and friends are the best addition to the MCU in years. I love their family dynamic and how vital it is to Kamala's journey. This is such a great show and a wonderful introduction to this character.

The main auntie, whose real name is Anjali Bhimani, was at a con that I was able to be her handler for the weekend. Awesome lady and great to her fans. She loved this role and the impact on her community that it brought. Really loved this episode. The dance was a highlight.

Great video as usual ! Since you love the series and the character of Kamala, I can't wait to see your reaction to The Marvels, I know it won't be soon but it's one of the last films in the MCU that really makes me laugh and doesn't deserve the hate it received when it came out, hope you will like it to !!

I am glad you are enjoying this series. Most of my friends are older than I and for them is hard to take or asimilate this and Spiderman stories as it is teenagers world. They have enjoyed most ofnthe Marvel universe specially Captain America. But well... it is a whole universe in which not just the adults are involved

Kamron's mother and Kamala's great-grandmother were members of the Clandestines, seen discovering the bangle together. They were effectively sisters, though we don't even know how Clandestines/djin/noor-dimension-people procreate. But it's not a stretch to say that Kamron and Kamala are effectively cousins for all intents and purposes.

Rob identified the main problem with the show. The villains were completely rushed. Their motivations feel tacked on.

Which I always felt was really nice, because Kamala's journey isn't about villains and everything, it's about her personal journey and finding out who she is and waht she is. Besides, everyone always jokes that the MCU is the same with how it goes and everything, but then every project where they go with something different, people hate on it, lol

@@HIPsteHeero I hadn't heard that complaint (much) but I agree with it (obviously) Even Rob noticed it. And it gets worse from there imo. I actually wish the story had stayed smaller scale, focused more on just Kamala and her home life and school issues (while being a street level superhero) and then done a bigger threat (like the Jin) in the next season.

@@gridlo But it does? That's why the villains feel tacked on and less significant. But of course she has to go through some of it, as she still has to learn waht it actually means to be a superhero, and that it is not all sunshine and rainbows like she initially thought it was. But her family, her friends, her life, stay central throughout it all though? But you can't do the first season, introduce who and what she is, and not do the Djinn, especially with what they reveal about what she is at the end of the season after all.

@@Darthvader772 They had a lack of time for recording and by the time they were dropping KZfaq vids they almost lined uped with their Patreon uploads. They needed to slow down so Patreon would went ahead again.

Karachi is the 12th largest city in the world and is in Pakistan, not India. Pakistan is Muslim. India used to be a secular state with a Hindu majority and Muslim minority. The entire Partition happened because the leadership of the Muslims (primarily Muhammad Ali Jinnah), and the Hindus (of the Indian Congress Party) couldn't agree on a way to keep India together, primarily because Jinnah wanted an independent state out of fear of domination and second-class status with the Hindu minority. Since then, India in recent decades has been led by the party that is an outgrowth of the fascist organization the assassin of Mohandas Gandhi belonged to, and it has been ruthlessly repressing and persecuting Muslims, so Jinnah wasn't entirely crazy. In any case, my point is that this division between Muslims and Hindus is why millions of people fled across the newly created border in 1948, heading in one direction or the other depending on whether they were Hindu or Muslim. (There are other religions in India, and innumerable languages and cultures, but let's not further complicate things.) Hundreds of thousands of people were killed in communal violence. This is the entire story of the Partition at the heart of Kamala's family story and the story of innumerable people in both India and Pakistan. Kamala's community in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA, is Pakistani-American and Muslim. It is not Indian. Karachi is in Pakistan, not India. (I'm also confused as to how someone can grow up in Britain, let alone in the decades of "the war on terrorism," and never have heard "allahu ackbar," "God is great," the most basic saying ever said by a Muslim, but okay then.)
