Not every property has to be this super epic thing. This show along with Hawkeye and Echo were my favorites of the D+ shows. I say introduce more obscure characters even if it doesn't necessarily tie to the greater story. I actually liked She-Hulk and can't wait for you to see Werewolf by Night (black and white version). I know it is a long shot, but Agents of Shield is a good watch too.

I agree 100%. Didn't really enjoy echo, but can see why it's appealing. I still say loki season 2 beats any marvel movie/ show in my book lol

I usually wouldn't recommend this, but... The "Assembled" episode devoted Ms Marvel is required watching for you, once you are finished with the show. It gives you background on designing and building Karachi, casting Kamala, who the Pakistani actors are and more. You would love it.

Regarding not knowing much about Ms Marvel, this show completely changed her powers and its origins, The comic book version is very, very different. However, what they did get right is the character herself: Kamala. Her background as a Muslim-American is even better addressed in the show than in the comics. Scenes from when she first drinks alcohol (with the douche pretending it's just orange juice) to quotes like "It isn't the brown girl from New Jersey that's gonna save the world" are directly from the comic. So if they got the character right and made her interesting, I really don't mind that her powers are completely different. And the show eventually makes her use her powers in a similar way to her comic book's powers.

Funny thing about the actress playing Kamala she is Canadian, this is her first actual role. She is a die hard marvel nut before she was cast. She has a huge book of marvel lore she keeps

21:47 The family life is portrayed so well in this show! Her mom, dad, brother and grandmother are all brilliant! Unfortunately, a lot of people tend to forget that Marvel is not like DC in that respect. DC's heroes have their main conflicts in their great villains; Marvel's heroes more often have their main conflicts in their everyday life - their villains are more just physical threats. DC's conflicts are more because of who their villains are, Marvel's are more because of who their heroes are.

The best translation from the comics is always the relationships that Kamala had when she was first introduced. I knew next to nothing about Pakistan, and G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona really focused on this beautiful world I wasn't aware of.

1947. Captain America was frozen in the Arctic. Bucky somewhere between Germany and Siberia. Thor on Asgard. The other Avengers were not born. It puts in perspective. Kamala would be alone if she had to fight against the villains of the time. Like Agatha or Hydra. 😂

As a Canadian, I laughed SO HARD at the "How do you know I'm not Canadian?" line. Partly because the actress IS Canadian, but partly because people always do automatically assume Canadians are Americans, so it's something we get used to saying. 🤣

Re: dumping someone in a foreign city... when I visited Tai Pei with my brother and new sister-in-law, they dumped me (sort of) in one neighborhood where I was told that everyone spoke English due to the presence of an American school where all of the children of English-speaking diplomats attended. NO ONE I met that day spoke English, except for a team of car thieves. And that's a whole 'nother story...

@@youtpfpm6097 are you high? There's nothing of Marvel's spirit in She-Hulk. The only thing those shows (Ms Marvel and SH) have in common, is that their actresses are very good, really likeable, but with a lame script.

@@dyegorodriguez2126 No, my feet are firmly on the ground. Just because I enjoyed something that you didn’t enjoy doesn’t mean I’m high. You didn't find what you wanted in SH, others did. Marvel’s spirit? Which one ? Personally, I enjoyed each film and series for what they were, not for what I would have liked them to be. It saves me from disappointments. You should try, I think.😊
