I had many many request on how I get such nice camera views of my landing replays so I decided to do a little tutorial on this. Finally we are able to use the good old "towerview" but better.

You're an absolute legend for sharing this, thank you! I don't know why, but I've never been able to get this to work properly in MSFS, so this is really helpful. Once you get to grips with it, you realise the drone camera is actually a pretty powerful tool.

Flight Sims used to have a Tower Chase cam, and Runway Spotter Cam.... Now you have to do it yourselves. This would make total sense if the game was free or something, but it isnt, you have to pay $$$ for it, so that you can get this

Exactly. All they cared about when they made MSFS was graphics. You would think something as simple as a tower and fly by cam option which was standard on FSX would be a standard feature, especially with all the money you have to spend.

On some planes you’ll need to active the reversers yourself. PMDG does it for you but Fenix does not

Good Morning. Can you tell why when I put the display on the camera and the track and go option, there is that little ball that presses, right, when I open it it goes and returns very quickly to off. Can you say why this is?

Is it glitching because of another plugged in device? I have the same thing when my PS4 controller is connected which I also use to control the drone for panning shots, so there is duplicate input

No idea, should work the same for any phase of flight. Make sure you reset the drone prior positioning

Nice tutorial! Could you provide some more details on how you got the reversers/spoilers to show up in your replay? I followed all the steps and got the camera to work, but no matter what I try the animations won't show. Thanks in advance.

On some planes you'll need to arm spoilers/control reversers yourself during the replay.

You can unlock the camera, then aim towards the nose and lock the camera again

Don’t shut down the plane after landing but leave it in landing configuration, then start your replay

Thanks for the tutorial, however it’s super frustrating to have to do all of this. I’ve been a MSFS guy from the beginning, and there’s always been a tower view. The entire camera setup in MSfS20 is not user friendly at all. My only gripe.

I dont’ get it to work. Every time I lock the cam, it’s turning away from the plane. Locking when the plane is pauzed does not make a difference.

Did you reset the camera by pressing 5? The camera turning away means it’s not locked to the exact center of the “reset/default” view
