MSFS2020 - A320 - Normal Law Protections (& how to remove them)

In this tutorial, we take a basic look at the built in protections in the A320N within MSFS2020 to see if they work or not in Normal Law. We also take a quick look at how to disable the ELAC, SEC & FAC computers to remove the protections in place.

Fascinating! So many switches in this sim are "INOP" yet they give us ELAC and SEC disable functions! We just require FBW to work more on the MCDU, in particular waypoints in SID/STAR, which quite a few times, the AP decides to miss out!

Totally misunderstood the title. I thought you were referring to common copyright law, and how to get the airline liveries to work, instead of the home Neo livery. 🤦‍♂️ Glad I was wrong. I learned something new today.

As far as overspeed protection is concerned, there were a few builds of the A32NX where the plane seemed to be intent on breaking the law as rapidly as possible ... hooligan!!

Very nicely demonstrated the sim does a pretty decent job. For your pitch limits in normal law (+30°/-15°), these values reduce to +20°/-10° when you have one stage of flap/slat out or more. I wonder if that’s modelled?

On A330 i got extremely wind change on cruise (tnx real weather MFS) and my Airbus switched to Alternate law (i saw it on ECAM) and Autopilot is not engaging whele this mod is active, i didn't now how to fix this, i spand a lot time in Google and read a lot documentation obout Law & protections(while driving my plane on cruise) and i not found information how to (reload) Normal mode, then i found this video tnx men!

That's actually what every airplane i have ever flown does: You initiate the turn with the ailerons (prefereby add some rudder to stay cooordinated), then you neutralize the ailerons to stay in the turn.

Can't speak for other airliners, but for Airbus, do not use the rudder in Flight. The Flybywire systems do all this for you.

@@Easyjetsimpilot I know that, I was speaking about all airplanes. The FBW system still uses the rudder to stay coordinated. The rest about initiating a turn is the same in all airplanes. It is also the same in all airplanes that they will not hold pitch attitude but return to the speed they were trimmed for.

@@cherokee592 ah OK - I thought you were including the Airbus within your comments. That of course is very different for the Airbus. Rudders aren't touched until about 30ft Bove the ground, and if you set a pitch with the sidestick, the aircraft will hold that pitch, even when you let go of the sidestick (point and shoot!)
