I once considered a Buttkicker but was very concerned at the vibration annoying my next door neighbour. My computer is right beside the partition wall to their house. You mention concrete floors being better. I work in the architecture industry and would be somewhat concerned about the effect constant vibrations would have on the long term structural strength of the concrete slab. It may induce cracking. I have had the HF8 Haptic seat pad for over a year and have become used to it. The transducers did cause me discomfort at first when using the seat for an extended length of time. Getting the seat pad strapped down in a good position is key I think to improving comfort

Thanks for the comment .. I doubt the buttkicker would have any affect on a concrete slab your house is sitting on ... it's not a jackhammer lol it just produces some vibration that can transmit through walls.

Awesome 👌 you will love it .. dial it in .. have good air flow and don't overpower and you will have it for years. It would also be A good idea every so often to get a can of that compressed air for cleaning keyboards and just blow out the amplifier to get any dust out of it..

@@2020fsers Received and set up yesterday and tried it with the FNX A320....wow! I never knew what I was missing. It will take a bit to tune each setting but this really adds immersion to the sim. I did get SimHaptics and trying that without the default software. Thanks again for pushing me over the edge!

Thanks for the comment . My settings will only show up in the plane that I have uploaded them for. The aircraft so far is the 414 , frs500, da42 , Comanche, I think that is all at the moment . I haven't been able to spend much time on the simulator recently. We have a small farm and this time of year I'm outside doing a bunch of stuff.

I think the arrangement setting in the settings tab refers to the input/output from the computer. I.e.. a mono, stereo or 5.1. I personally use a stereo output USB card specifically for the Buttkicker. So I use the stereo setting, and it does seem to make a difference. The multiple outputs refers to the number of Buttkickers that are connected.
@2020fsers
@2020fsers 2 ай бұрын
If you check out the manual tab in the about menu and scroll to the section for settings and there it says for arrangement to select your bass shaker setup, and says nothing about the audio from pc . Yes the multiple output slider is for multiple devices per effect. So you can have 2 buttkickers under the seat in mono or set them in stereo to have a right and left side .

Also, according to an RK Apps video, you should choose the stereo option when using one bass shaker if the mono option isn't producing enough volume - they say the stereo option will provide extra gain.

Amazing Video, I need to hook my buttkicker back up. I turned it off because my Dog hates it. Small complaint, I wish there was a way to change the SimHaptic in your video to white background. It is very hard to read your settings.

Thanks for the comment .. what you see in the simhaptics are not my settings only because every aircraft is different so I felt I would show the process in which I go about setting all of the settings also everyone's setup is different so my settings may be to weak or to over powered for you . But the aircraft that I have setup profiles like the 414 the Comanche and the da42 and fsr500 I have uploaded them to the cloud so you can go there and download my settings in the cloud tab for those aircraft .

A swivel rocker chair was an issue because when I’d push the pedals, my chair would roll back, and swivel around. I had to tape the wheels and bungie cord the swivel motion lol! I have the HF8 chair pad. Would this not be redundant? I need the Butkicker to somehow also vibrate the yoke and pedals. I used to have a platform which had 4 tactile transducers mounted on platform, chair, pedals and yoke.
@2020fsers
@2020fsers 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment . Because I'm on carpet. I don't have the issue with my chair. Wanting to roll when I push on my pedals luckily lol. .If you have your SIM cockpit mounted on metal extrusions, then yes, butt kickers would be great to mount on corners to give you the haptic feedback throughout your controls. Your yoke and things like that. I do. Know of people that have both the haptic seat pad and the butt kicker. And my opinion, I think it's a little overkill.

@@2020fsersInteresting! So I looked into ButtKicker, very expensive. Found a good deal on a 100watt amp with 4 mini transducers and a large transducer on Amazon for only $210! Many reviews say it’s great for simulations. I can mount on pedals and yoke etc…With my HF8, I cannot feel the thump of hard landings etc… I’ll let u know how it is. Thanks! 👍

Now I am a little concerned and may have to remove this from my Christmas list. I do most of my flights when everyone else in the house is sleeping. Although their rooms are not directly connected to my Sim room (on second floor), if the vibrations are transmitted through the frame of the house, that could mean problems. I would be interested in your thoughts Jon (but I won't hold you to anything), will the horse stall pad reduce the vibrations enough? Great video!!
@2020fsers
@2020fsers 2 ай бұрын
Hmm that's a tough call . If they Are directly above you sleeping. Then that could pose as a problem unless your simulator is on concrete like if you're on a ground floor or something. In that instance, I would say you would probably be okay. But if your simulator is like mine and is sitting on a wood floor with wood joist underneath of it, it's gonna transfer some sound. I'm not sure how much a mat would damper it definitely will but to what extent idk. And most houses don't have insulation on interior walls or between levels. So that just leaves a hollow space for sound to travel. I don't think you would have an issue with other people trying to watch TV or something but when It comes to sleeping some people Are really temperamental to the conditions for sleep. And if they're not directly above you and maybe on the opposite side of the house, you probably won't have an issue. There will be plenty of walls in between you and them.
@2020fsers
@2020fsers 2 ай бұрын
The other thing is you could choose when and when you're not gonna use it.So maybe you only use it when people are awake and you don't when people go to sleep. Play some bass music in that room and then go upstairs to the bedrooms and see if it's loud . It won't be the exact same, but at least it might give you some idea. If there is enough air space between all the walls between that room and where everyone is sleeping to dampen the sound enough then you will be fine

The pad wasn't a good solution for me. The motors at the rear of the seat portion hurt; they were hard and were right beneath my hip bones, causing severe bursitis in my left hip that I hadn't felt for almost 20 years. Then the strap at the back of my seat parted and I had to (unsuccessfully) try to stitch it together. It went in the bin (incidentally I waited almost two years for that pad from Europe via China or somewhere; it was the first of its kind and there were some distribution and manufacturing problems, I was told ... but I had already paid for it. Frustration is the word here.). I'm on my second buttkicker (I had the original but it eventually quit). After waiting six months for my Buttkicker II to arrive from England (I'm in Australia) my speakers died. When I brought my new speakers home the only place I could plug in the Buttkicker was in the rear of one of the Logitech speakers ... the vibrations worked but the sound was gone. So my brand new Buttkicker isn't getting used ... (All that cost me around AU$1000), so I'm not at all happy. On top of that the company in Australia I bought the Buttkicker from said they had them in stock - they didn't. The lied).
@2020fsers
@2020fsers 2 ай бұрын
Damn that really sux . The new buttkickers you can use a usb and don't need to use the audio Jack . I suspected that the haptic seat pad would have issues with comfort that's another reason I went with buttkicker. I hope you find a solution for your issue . If you have the y cable you can use that to plug in series with your speakers

All was doing great for me with my reverb G2 and hapticonnect, but after I switched to Pimax (for some weird reason) Now I have about 5s lag for every single effect, and sometimes the activate and deactivate out of the blue, without any input. Have no Idea why this is going on, but I'm really missing how it used to work before, and at this point, I CAN'T fly without it... Costummer support from Hapticonnect yiu ask? Non existent.

Ok so there is delay is from the pimax itself. In the pimax play tool in the 1st tab devices towards the bottom you can set standard or or low latency sound mode switch to low latency and the lag should go away

@thatguy7085 I will say the older ones are a bit different than the new updated design. I think they are a little more powerful than the older ones. And the amp is definitely different because you can connect the amp via USB c cable now. I think that makes a big difference then connecting it into an audio port. I don't own one of the older ones So I really can't say for sure.
