Hello everyone i hope you are well! In this episode for microsoft flight simulator 2020 we start the Cessna Longitude series. In part 1 of 4 we will cover all of the cockpit systems and avionics like the g5000/g3000. This is a long episode so please take advantage of the time stamp section. We will take a deep dive into the g5000 and different scenarios of how to use the gps. At the end of the video i will go over how to use the mfd control panels to control different screens so stay around for that as this is gonna be a very helpful episode. Just maybe a helpful detail. Reference your discussion on the G5000 MFD Control (a.k.a. the GTC [Garmin Touchscreen Controller]). At 42:44, you pointed to a frequency list available under the Airport Info tab. All of these frequencies are COM (voice) frequencies. Selecting them will input that frequency to the COM radio, but it update your NAV radio with a localizer or ILS frequency. The list shown allows the pilot to select and speak to different geographic ATC sectors surrounding an airport. While it is true that some approach control sectors are often associated with specific approach corridors and procedures (i.e. instrument approaches), there are often multiple ILS and LOC approaches within a single approach control sector. I guess the bottom line is that there are no automated COM/NAV frequencies parings, and selecting a COM frequency on the COM list will not affect the NAV radio. Nice job on the video. Very professional and easy to follow.

Markers transmit using one of two possible power settings. Low power markers require 'High sensitivity' reception to be selected. Also, if you are talking about using the barometer/QNH it is called 'altitude', if you are measuring using radio altimeter/height above ground/QFE, it's called 'height'.

8:22 40 years ago we used B/C all the time while flying VOR to VOR and drowning lines on paper maps using radials. And walked to school in 6 feet (2 meters) of snow. 😁

As far as I know VNAV should be work also in the climb procedure. Try SID SPR3U transition SPR from LSGS (Sion Switzerland) RW25, There are two restriction below 11000 and 13000. Even if you set crusie altiude, say 25000, the Longitude perfectly levels at the constrain. Try that.

I will try it again and I will also try it in part 3. It may be the sid I was using doesn't have any constraints but I thought it would take me to cruise .

Thanks for all your help in understanding the G3000/G5000. My question is, when looking at a flight plan, whether it's simbrief or little navmap, how do you differentiate between inputting as a waypoint or as an airway?

Thanks for the comment. Ok so most airways have flight restrictions so this is the 1st thing to look at. If you cannot achieve the altitude or speed I that airwa then that's a no go. 2 if you meet the requirements and in your route you can use an airway then use it . Using an airway is no different than other waypoints in a sense . It will help cut down on the amount of waypoints you need to enter in the gps. For instance you can use an airway and not input the airway in the g5000 and instead input all the waypoints. So you are still using an airway but you entered all the waypoints.its really up to you on how you enter the fpl . I hope this makes sense. If you are not following proper procedures then you don't need to worry about step 1.

Thanks for the comment . Make sure you are using the 2 mods that I go over and also remove any other mods from your community folder and check if that fixed the issue .

Good video. I suggest to edit it making a shorter form because many virtual pilots in the world would like to hear it at all, but you speak very fast and the non americans are having dificulty to understand 100%.

It's hard to make it a shorter form because then I will not be able to go over everything then I will have people complain about that. This is the main reason I take the time to timestamp everything to make it easier to find what you need.

Once your panel is selected using the control pad then the small single knob is for range on the control pad .

I think you do not have to separately go to the marketplace and download and enable the working title mod anymore because it is supposedly built into the aircrafts now as of the March update. I believe that works for all working title things with the g1000 g3000 g5000.

I bought a vkb joystick. Do you have a sensitivity setup fpr the Longitude? When I pull back my aircraft after taking off it pulls harder. It don't what joystick anyone has but it'd be great to have a sensitivity tutorial for the Longitude.

I use spad for my keybinds and this has no sensitivity settings . But it works very well they have a trial if you wanna give it a go .

At 6:00 The VNAV works beautifully in all phases of flight with AT, ascent/descent. Try a SID departure with an Altitude height restriction to test. Recommend SLAPP2 at KBUR to KLAS with MISEN transition. It has a 19000 alt restriction. I fly this all the time and it always levels off. AFCS must be in FMS mode with AT and FLC selected.. Also be sure that Alt Sel (cyan color) is set to cruise height and out of way.

Thanks for the comment ... yes since this video I have gotten vnav to work and just finished part 3 in edit now so you will see that as well. You can also use vs in vnav as well as flc I go over that in part 3 as well. Hope to get it out soon .

i have to watch this great vid at least 3-4 times over to come to grips with all the details :D however my question is how to end the flight so the log book opens and my flight is logged. even though i shut down the systems the logbook never opens. kindly help. thanks.

Thanks for the comment .. for the log book I think it is supposed to enter that when you shut down the plane but I know lots of people have issues with flights not being logged myself included. There is also an option in the assistance menu I believe the last menu has something about logs.

Latitude is incorporated with MSFS Premium or it is a separate mod to purchase from a different company? Also, Can you install Latitude mod with any MSFS package or has to be a Premium version?

Lots of information here. Fun plane to fly. The split screen does get confusing on which panel you are controlling. I thought the mod was not needed with this latest update. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the comment .. Yeah they still haven't gotten this plane up to par yet so the mods are still needed to bring it closer to the real thing. I have no idea why msfs put the enhancement mod I the marketplace and not just incorporate that into the plane makes no sense to me.

@@2020fsers I think they do it for folks with lower end computers. It takes more power to run. Interesting is that when I use the enhanced mode, my GTN 750, I always use it, loses it's topographical feature so the map is just black. I have informed the programmer (PMS ) about it so he is aware of it.

May I Ask you, as it is hard to find online: Is the FDE mod fully working with the latest Sim updates as per Jan-2023? There are complaints about systems faults with this mod installed. Thanks!

I haven't used it lately after su14 so I'm not sure. But it did definitely help with some of the little issues, especially with reverse thrust.

I fly in VR, and towards the end you go over pane controls. I do not get that arrow to select which pane I want to control. Do you know how to do that in VR specifically?

Hey thanks for the comment. You need to use your mouse in vr to get that arrow and I also use legacy mode in the menu. I only fly vr and that's how I do it

I Love your video's. I learn a lot...but now I don't know what to do. I can't start up mu apu or engine. I found some video beacause of the blank screens. That's solved but this with he apu is a crime. Do you have a solustion?

Thanks for the comment . The 1st thing I look at are mods . So remove all mods from the community other than the 2 I go over in the video . And see if it works then

If one ever has a problem with startup, use the CTL E keys to start and CTL SH E to shut down. I always load aircraft from a ramp or parking spot to avoid lame ATC stuff that starts you on a runway and nags for response. Sometimes I just want to fly on Vatsim so I skip startup procedure and hit CTL and E. Navigraph now has been incorprorated in Longitude. Simbrief flight plans can be loaded directly into G5000, as well as all Jeppeson sim charts. good luck

The blue color you are refering to is CYAN. Cyan is a secondary colour when you mix blue and green. Magenta is the color we all know well. Mix between red and blue. The other pane colour is more of a variation of lighter magenta. Anyway this is an excellent tutorial and it really explained the confusion around the panes very well.

I think it's only for setting minimums I don't believe that you can display the radio altitude

A few months ago on my Longitude, the autopilot panel indicator lights stopped working. When any button was pressed, no indicator light worked. I have tried everything and researched the matter. Does anyone know anything about this issue and could advise? Thanks.

Are you using any mods for the longitude. Also are you running any other mods in your community.? If yes remove them and retest .

Yes it is a default aircraft I think you need the premium deluxe version of msfs .

Im having the following issue: the mfd's do not work independently; every movement i do on one it gets mirrored on the other... does anyone know how to solve this?

Are you talking about the pfd's there is only 1 mfd. The pfds may mirror each other

Use auto trottole in manual mode and keep speed not below 130 knots. The auto throttle should disengage automatically when you are some feet over the runway. Be aware no much wind in the back

I now use the FDE mod and it's fine now - the plane is quickly becoming my favourite.

That's fantastic I also found another bug if you dont use the fde mod . On the runway if you engage the reverers the plane tips up and does a wheele lol . Yea the fde mod is still much needed on this aircraft and makes it much better to fly .

i dont hear any beeps when i activate nav radio. i just see i catched up ils, some letters shows up next to the freq. number... but NO beeps :(

If you want to hear the audible beeps to verify the correct Vor then you need to turn on the audio on the PFD control panel like I showed in the video.

@@2020fsers I did it exactly. NAV 1 frequency is exact ils (109.90). Volume is 100%. And NAV 1 button is on and green. I dont hear nothing. Are you super sure that Longitude beeps work? Can you please try it and report me? Thanks a lot.

Okay I got you here. Click nav 1 in the audio panel then the green light illuminated under nav one it should tell you the Vor identifier on the right with the frequency. at the very bottom where you have three knobs the very center knob if you look just above it it says push to ID you would push the knob in and then you will hear the audible sound
