Clearing NVIDIA Shader Cache for Better Performance in MS Flight Simulator 2020
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to clear your NVIDIA shader cache to improve performance when playing MS Flight Simulator 2020. The video provides simple step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow, even if you're not a tech expert. By the end of the video, you'll have a clear understanding of how to optimize your system for better gaming performance. The main reason that you want to delete your Shader cache as well as your rolling cache in the simulator is because anytime there is an update or you download and install new scenery add-ons or airports things can get overridden. Similar to when you download and update to a third party aircraft most of the time the developer will ask you to uninstall the previous version before you install the newest version and this is to help reduce any inconsistencies with the files or overlapping and conflicting files. At the end of the video in the bonus section I go over 2 very helpful apps that can also reduce stutters in Msfs2020 . Always restart your system after doing these items. I didn't hear you mention that . Then start flight simulator after the system restart?

I suffer long pauses (4-5 secs) on long final and alas, this didn’t help 🤷🏼 The Scannow process did fix some corrupted files so that’s a plus. ❤️🇦🇺

I did wonder if there would be any read across to DCS so followed your video and removed the Nvidia files and I have noticed a visible improvement. Thank you!

why do you still run windows 10???

After Windows update MSFS become unplayable (constant stutter every about 2 seconds.. macrostutter.. it hangs for few seconds). Tried the shader cleanup .. ididn't help. Game is slideshow when set graphical settings to LOW-END even. 15 aprox. FPS on my 3090Ti and fast CPU. Before update I had around 60fps most of the time on Ultra settings. ANy Ideas what might be causing this? ..... Even the Main menu and startup logos are almost slideshow. Other games seem not affected at all.

Is best disable cache even in Microsoft Flight Simulator and just say goodbye stutters and even if you are using google maps disable cache it really gives us a lot of problems so we don’t need to worry about deleting it in each folders

I've always run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth first, if it detects a problem, then run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to "fix"
