@@megkry8559 thanks! I also have the GE77HX, like it alot. Has better speakers , webcam seems to be only 720p and the mic is still a bit poor. Might be their noise cancelation. I also have the Legion 7i with both the 12800hx and 12900HX and they both run hot in CPU only work as its PL1 is 125W. Gaming its fine though.

hi Stephen! That's a nice intro right there hahaha I enjoyed it so much!. Nice device, a bit bulk looking, I think that nowadays i prefer the clean style of the Lenovo devices. The mic of that laptop is horrible for the price being paid hahaha The cooling system looks great and it seems that it makes a great job cooling the laptop, nice temps in all modes, I don't really think that's necessary to have all that fan noise for a couple of extra fps haahha Nice job covering all angles of the device as always! great video.

What an incredible 15.6 inch laptop. I remember being blown away by the HP omen 15t with the 9880h, this is some next level stuff though. That cooling looks incredible! I hope before too long we see 17 inch OLED high refresh panels become the norm, they seem gorgeous but I like a 17 inch screen personally. Great video as always! Loved the raiders intro and outro, very cool and creative. Hope to see your multiplayer event gain some traction!

Thanks Lee! I still have that Omen 15T actually 😀. It still games ok, but gets super hot, even after a repaste. I'm amazed how well this thermal pad performs on the GE67HX. I bought the 17" GE77HX recently so that review will be up soon enough. That is a great machine too. Glad you like the intro and outro. My buddy Veikko (aka Burrito King) did it for me! @@eliefares2755 yes, I don't think youtube is notifying many people. I get that too. I don't get notifications from people I am subbed to and have the bell checked. It ends up being a downward spiral for which you have little control.

No G-Sync is why I ultimately gave up on MSI for now. The tech is already built into the screen as it's VRR capable, MSI just don't want to pay the license fee to enable it in the Nvidia driver. It's not just about tearing to me, it's very important for accurate emulation of consoles so it's mandatory for me. I thought I could get away with adaptive sync but it only works with direct x 11+ and not always unless in full screen. G-Sync just works. What Nvidia have done for laptops is basically proprietary software that controls the VRR capable display.. it is not like stand alone monitor g-sync with a module.. but it works and all prestige laptops should have it. Another miss is no windows hello on this device, that's crazy. Anyway hopefully next year we'll get 17" OLED with G-Sync.. Will keep my eyes peeled!

Totally agree Teddy! For the price it should have Gsync and a fingerprint reader. I ended up buying a USB fingerprint reader for my GE77HX

In your opinion what display would you chose? This one or the 1000nits qhd from the ROG Duo 16? Nice video

Thanks, glad you liked the video. I did see the Zephyrus duo 16 in the store, although it wasn't powered on. It is a very nice looking machine. Nicer than the GE67HX for sure. From what I understand the screen is gorgeous, Notebookcheck measured 459 nits, but still plenty bright. Colour accuracy is good too. Outdoor viewing not so good , the OLED has much better contrast. Speakers are much much better. I think for use in normal indoor lighting it's a great panel, not reflective like the OLED which may be a concern for some.

The hdr washed out issue is a nvidia driver issue that hasn't been fixed. you must manually install 512.15 (newer drivers are broken) by first doing ddu uninstall. when you do the ddu you must checkmark advanced phsx as well. then when installing the driver ensure clean install is checked. Once i did all this i have had 0 issues with hdr having that washed out look.

Hi from Amsterdam again👾, thanx for mentioning the invisible taskbar name haha. Please tell me what was the difference between Bios 104 and 107. I am likely to try, but no matter what I do, I am not able to flash to lower Bios (I have all 67HX bioses, if anybody needs, please see c69k in MSI forum, and contact me there👀). Awesome review !!!

Thanks for providing the information, Dusan :) The CPU score in Timespy with BIOS 107 12809 vs 13413 with BIOS 104. Was strange. In the BIOS you should be able to enable flash back to earlier BIOS. You can on the GE77HX anyway.

@@OWNORDISOWN Thank you for super info. I finally Flashed Bios 104, but only tried Cinebench 23 with same results as with 107. Mistake I made as per post above (unable to downgrade Bios), was that after unzipping, I copied the whole Bios folder onto USB. The Bios file must not be in any folder, only in root, otherwise it throws error unsupported format lol Next Monday is the last day I can return this laptop, which I enjoy more and more. If I had to buy this level of powerful desktop + OLED 240Hz(?) monitor, it would cost me about same as the laptop = 2450EUR (considering 1200EUR only for a proper OLED monitor). Would you wait for the next gen. ? Any input is greatly appreciated as I consider you a proper reviewer.

Hi! What's the difference in P3 mode and sRGB mode? I see lower sRGB in sRGB mode. So better to use p3 for high coverage of sRGB? Just lost in this. I want this laptop for photo editing.

Yes, P3 and aRGB opens up a wider colour gamut. The colours definitely look richer and vibrant. I would use either aRGB or P3 mode.

I agree! Its amazing how far we have come in just a few years. I remember about 5 or 6 years ago I was at about 30 minutes for my handbrake test and now its taking 10 minutes.

The only thing that's concerning me about this laptop is - how do you clean it? I mean msi is notorious for soldering fans to the other components of the cooling system, meaning you'll have to remove that part, so how would that liquid metal pad hold? So far it makes no sense on how you're supposed to service that laptop.

Looks very straight forward to me Sergei. Once all the screws are removed just lift up the heat pipes and 4 heatsinks at the same time and it will all come up in one piece. At room temperature I would expect the thermal pad to be in a solid state, correct?

Sure, if it is priced OK. The 3080 is still a good GPU, as long as it is the version with 16GB of VRAM, especially for 4k gaming.

I just watched the review on Jared's Tech for this laptop and he says that there is g-sync with Optimist off and adaptive sync with Optimus on????.. Can u clarify this, because u said theres no gsync or adaptive sync

That is incorrect. It does not have Gsync. As for Freesync, that would be applicable if it had the Radeon settings but it does not. It does not have advanced optimus. My friend has the laptop too and concurs with me. That being said neither my friend or myself see any tearing. Possibly because of the 240Hz and OLED combination.

@indo Jarrod pinned a comment saying that he made a mistake about Gsync. Probably it is pinned in his review video. As for adaptive sync you normally see the range in the Radeon control panel. I don't have the GE67HX anymore, I do have the GE77HX and there is no mention of the variable refresh rate range anywhere. Not in Nvidia control panel, system information, create a custom resolution, or windows display settings. Perhaps you can ask how they found that range and I'll ask my buddy to look at his system.

I had this laptop for a couple weeks. Screen is amazing but the build is disappointing. The hinges look like they will not hold up over time. Ended up returning it and getting the duo 16.

I've been busy at work and personal life...I did film a video but new info came out so I need to start that one again so am working on the script. I've also done all the testing on the i9 12800hx and 12900hx Legion 7 , so I will start on that soon.

Nice lappy. Don't like MSI gaming laptops though. They feel cheap to me. The last MSI I loved was the GT80 Titan.

Okay, isn't thermals/performance best in the market when it comes to Msi GE series, but at what cost i dont know but yes MSI do have built issues, esp the hinges. And are those legion series have good built quality if you have used one?
