I bought one of these a couple weeks ago with the 4080 1440p screen and I’m so happy with it. I came from using an i7 2060 laptop and obviously the performance gains are massive. Worth every penny.

How's the display and the temps?

Display on QHD+ one is fantastic, the 1080p display is apparently underwhelming. Temps are decent.. MSI software has had some updates since I got mine and there are now 4 power profiles so they have listened to feedback about temps and made the necessary changes. If you want I can get some temps today and lyk.. overall I’m happy I spent the money. Only real thing to be aware of which I’m sure you already are is that if you play on ultra performance mode it is LOUD. But with headphone is fine.

@@matthewkingsmill7372 i see, thanks. I was confused on which one i should get between the legion pro 7i and this one. Could you help me decide? Btw both are 1999usd and same specs i9 + 4080

Also for the temps have you tried repasting or undervolting. And i also heard something about just using E cores.

@@akiphalos No, I haven't done any of that.. only thing I have done is increased the storage to 4tb. Yeh turning EC off can net you some frames in some games but to be honest I personally wont do anything like that until the laptop starts to struggle... so i'm a couple years off that personally. Its an easy machine to get into so thermal paste if you decide to go down that route should be a doddle. If you search for the laptop model teardown there are detailed videos on how to get into the machine.

Is there a recommended docking station that can handle the power requirements for the GE78?

I have this exact model and love it! I actually like the design especially after looking at the sea of bland business looking setups. Coming from an Asus Rog G750/16/860m/17.3 inch. (2014) Sound quality and 1600p 240 hrtz is beautiful!. I would use a cooling pad to keep noise levels even lower and cooling performance higher. Thanks for the review!

Hey, im curious about which brand of charger do you have? I have the same laptop but my charger was produced my a brand called Chicony.

@@ahmettarikyanikI think mine is the same. There is a smaller 330 watt version which is more compact. Thought of getting one for when on road trips. (easier carry on in bag) Good luck, Peace

Is it the same as the ge68hx? Just diffrent screen size? I can get the ge68 with 4090 rtx for 3000 euro. Is it worth it? Or should I go with Asus rog? My only concern with this msi is no g sync and the color acuracy, display quality for content creation. The Asus have a mini led option. What's your view on it?
