The Presidential oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God." Trump said the 14th Amendment does not apply to him because the oath he took was not to our Constitution. Trump's argument is that the presidential oath does not require a president to support or defend the constitution. Let that sink in for a moment.

I don't even think they teach that in American schools anymore. Shall we start with the 1st amendment and the so-called "Hate Speech?" What is interesting however, is that Biden has been given immunity until next January, and he doesn't want to use it. I believe his life lesson is to be challenged at some point to use this in order to save our democracy from a person with no conscious that will abuse it beyond repair. I am thankful it's him in the presidency right now. He's old Joe, but he's got a good heart and he's still wise and hanging in there. If he steps down I'll support Harris.

If it is any solace at all...I'm Canadian; King Charles III is Canada's Head of State (represented in Canada by our Governor General). His mother, Queen Elizabeth II, was in that role before him. Despite the fact that IN THEIR OFFICIAL CAPACITIES the British Monarch is above the rule of law, she KNEW that she had an obligation to serve with *honour* and avoided ANY and ALL instances when she could have been seen to break the Rule of Law as a UK citizen (an example: driving over the speed limit in the UK -- and *yes*, Her Majesty did, on occasion, drive her own car. She also repaired army vehicles during WWII, which DJT and his ilk would never stoop to doing if called upon, but I digress...) My point is that even the current monarchy in the UK - including the Commonwealth of Nations -- is very well aware of what is right and what is the abuse of power. If you want to compare DJT to a "KIng" you have to go back several generations; OUR King Charles III -- and his mother and grandfather before him -- did not choose to exercise that sort of power.

Per FBI stats Violent Crime has only statistically significantly markedly decreased. Homicides are down 26% in US. Crime reached record recent high under Trump in 2020 while only decreasing under Biden.

I hate to say this, because I do really value a lot of the reporting from MSNBC over the Trump era, but at this moment this channel and liberal cable news ecosystem generally is not meeting any kind of high standard. They’ve totally lost the thread. Their PHDs that weren’t enough to get them real academic jobs didn’t prepare them for this. They aren’t getting what they want, which is a problem that needs their specialized jealously guarded expertise. No. This is a problem that requires common sense and a commitment to memory. Fascism was and is real. A nobody like Adolf Eichmann was a real somebody who lived and died. Solidarity is a real thing. If the executive branch has now obtained more power it must be balanced with the other branches of government. The legislative branch must find a way to keep the Executive branch in check along with the Judicial branch. Restore the balance ⚖️ Perhaps a faster way to remove a tyrant from office? Or, because technology is so efficient, a flash special election for the people can happen with a vote from their assigned phone.
