Bannon has to start serving his 4 month sentence on July 1st. He'll be out well before the next election. Sad but true. It is going to take more than just getting rid of Trump to pull America back from the ledge. There is a group who just want Anarchy so they can step in like Putin did. They were organized before Trump came along. They chose Trump to ride his fame, and Trump has done his part. They're willing to let him continue, but they're continuing with or without him. Steve Bannon is part of that group along with Flynn and Stone. American democracy is in eminent danger as long as this group exists.

Ub to the end of the war, they also produced totally harmless movies, absolutely unpolitical, like "Quax der Bruchpilot", "Die Feuerzangenbowle" (good to be shown at chrismastime in Nationalism-allergic Germany), "Münchhausen", "Große Freiheit Nr. 7". They were way more skilled to organize a mass movement than these imitators of Trumpism. More skilled how to move the thinking of a Nation in small, tiny steps to become totally re/perverted, but reasonable as long as the world view that propaganda set up was in action. When it disappeared on May 8, 1945 (2 days after my father's birthday), without that constant hammering most people returned back to what they were, totally normal, decent people. People have to understand that the REAL danger of these systems does not lie in appealing to a handful of maniacs (what esp. in the US the people seem to simplify it to), but in nudging the "normal" people to go along. And that the psychology of the applied methods is working anytime, anywhere and applies to anyone.

In the UK if you are brought back to court for sentencing a few weeks or days after being found guilty then you go to prison immediately if incarceration is the judges decision. This stops people fleeing. They can appeal if suitable grounds are found to organise a re-trial or sentence change. Usually sentences are considered too short and so the home secretary may intervene. Jail Bannon immediately. I am right wing, but this guy is toxic and exceptionally dangerous. This is more than free speech his rhetoric. Like Goebbles he will not be cowed so best to lock him away.
